I wish I could go now and make an offer but I didn’t finalize with ford yet.  I say 30% off sounds good to me. I’ll be paying less then my ford and have more creature comforts

I’ve had soo many problems with my truck. For one , Chevy isn’t the only one with vibration problems. My truck vibrates like crazy and they never figured it out. I’ve had my iwe’s fixed, brake booster replaced multiple times, multiple sensors replaced, rear brake lights didn’t work, parking brake issues, brake pedal assembly replaced after multiple repair attempts on it. And don’t get me started on that ten speed tranny. I’ve had it go into what felt like neutral at a stop several times, then would lunge so hard I thought i was gonna snap my neck. Luckily, nobody was in front of me. It’s so jerky, clunky and feels like its searching. Ughhh, the list goes on and on with problems.

Anyway, buddy of mine has a Silverado without issues so I decided maybe I’ll look into that. gmcs are nice but a little more out of my price range. The dealership by me has like 20 z71’s anywhere from 39,900-43,000. Being they’re 2018’s I figured I could get it less than that. What do you think?

Thanks. I was thinking of offering around 36 for the ones with the 52k msrp. So I’m not way off. I never thought of buying from out of state but I’ll take a look at those dealers. Maybe worth it. Btw, my stepfather has a dodge with all the bells and whistles. Beautiful truck, has had its issues though. I totally agree with you. It’s really hit or miss. I like the fords. Customer service was terrible.

Well, you may like the Ford but based on your list of things that went wrong...well you probably had to deal with Customer Service way more than normal. Probably needed couples therapy spending that much time together.

Hahahaha for real. And trying to get anybody to respond was ridiculous. I went all the way up the chain and still couldn’t get a response through call or email for days at times. And they were assigned to my case. All ford cares about is being number one in sales. I took them to arbitration through my ag. They called me up before our date and said I want to settle and we will buy your truck back after looking at my history. Ummmmmm. That’s what I wanted in the first damn place. Five months ago. So now they don’t have a truck that’s deemed a lemon. So they can take it back, try to fix it, resell it and keep themselves looking good by saying they help the customer. After dragging me through the mud. Definitely need therapy. Lol

Call your insurance company and ask them what they would pay for a totaled 2018 with 1,000 miles.  You'll probably have to pay more than that to the dealer, but it gives you a good feel for what it is "worth".  If the dealer is hoping a hail storm comes through and totals all the leftover '18s to get more than he can wholesale them for or whatever, he may sell it to you at that insurance price, after you walk out the door at least once playing hardball.

Welcome! Always glad to see someone come from the dark side! Just kidding, I've got buddies who own Ford's and have had good luck. We're all either GM or Ford truck owners and have had pretty good experiences overall. I hate to say it but it all comes down to luck with any truck brand nowadays. You can find similar horror stories to yours in this forum, but there's also a lot of good stuff out there too. With vehicles having so many features and electronics stuffed in them nowadays it's just more crap to have go wrong. With that said, my last 3 vehicles have all been GM (2 GMT900's and now my K2). Sold the 900's each with over 200k+ miles and never had any major issues. I've had 2 repairs on my K2 (2016 GMC Sierra Denali with 78k miles), one was the brake vacuum pump (replaced with new design) and the other was having both cylinder heads replaced due to a coolant leak. Was out of warranty for the pump so that cost me about $700 and the heads were paid for by GM. Outside of that she's been a fun truck. I've done a bunch of mods to it and have gotten close to how I want it to look and drive, fast and smooth!

Just take your time and look at neutral rating sites in addition to forums. Test drive the hell out of any truck you're considering, ask if you can take it overnight. Highway speed, stop and go, do it all. Can find a lot of problems that way.

Whatever you decide best of luck. Hoping you don't have another nightmare situation.

I have both , 15 f150 lariat and 17 Sierra SLT .
I like both very much and they are both fun to drive .
Would like to see GM with ford gear smoothness , would like to see ford with better looking truck and less complications when it comes to car modifications and voiding car warranty .

If you have nothing to trade in, then Laura Buick GMC is one of the best prices you can get being they are a volume dealer.  I think when I was looking they were even cheaper than my GMS discount

They all suck but who cares.

Price wise I paid 40k OTD in Sept 2018 from a small dealer in a small Fla. Panhandle town so use that as a guide. 4WD, short bed crew cab, Z71, LT trim and some special edition something or other (I can't recall). Only options were the trailer brake, all weather mats and under seat (rear) storage bin. I would think you could get a really good deal about now.

Good luck.

my dealer does the no hassle pricing. They have several NEW 2018 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500
Crew Cab Short Box 4-Wheel Drive LT Z71 All Star Edition listed at 39,500.

I don't know how easily you can really find anything as low as 35,000 right now since there are plenty of people who will happily buy the '18's after they saw the questionable design on the '19s.

you can definitely find one under 40k, so walk away if they aren't taking numbers that start with a 3.

My local dealer, conroe tx. Is advertising 18 slts 2wd starting at 35k. With trade in assistance too. Up to 16k off.

Thanks guys for all the replies. Really great stuff here. I was looking around at dealers further away from me(never thought of traveling until youve mentioned) and have seen the same truck at my dealership (42k) listed for 36k. That’s definitely worth a three hour drive. I would be happy to get it for that price.

As for the guy with the 2015 lariat. The new 10 speed transmission has been plaguing many of us. There was a recent update for the software to try and help out the shifting and jerkiness but after 1k miles it feels like crap again. I will say this. The Ecoboosts are fast trucks.

Now when you say otd, is that with tax and all?

OTD price is total including everything: tax, title license, dealer fees, etc.

Its so hard to compare prices with people on an online forum because you don't know what number they are giving you. Mine was around 47k sticker, agreed on price about 37k, and after taxes and fees my OTD was about 40k.
