My father in law has had a recall every year or two on his 2011 Ecoboost.

No he hasn't  4 recalls between 2011-2012 and one in 2016.  That's hardly every year or two

My experience with the ecoboost engines comes from my buddy / neighbor. They purchased a Fusion sport with the 2.7 twin turbo and escape with the 4cyl turbo at the same time. Hes at 30k zero issues and her with the escape is at over 50k no issues. Her escape has been very abused, hits every pot hole to the point of popping 2 tires and floors it everywhere, has slid off the road and curbed it a few times too. She also has a small tree branch that somehow pierced the radiator / intercooler 20k miles ago and is still there without causing problems, its the funniest thing to see.

And I bet only a handful are on these forums. Fords trucks and their drive train is NOT better than GM’s.

How may ecoboost Ford's have over 150,000 miles on them ?

Not many because they are shot by then because they run so hot. Fact.

I have a 2016 ford escape 2.0 turbo and it might be my favorite car i ever owned. It is a rocket off the line and it handles pretty dam good for a SUV no body roll. I have also towed 3000 lbs of wood with no problem. I have never owned a ford until 2016.

Op the only thing to be scared of the K2 is to look at all the forums which usually brings out all the bad of a vehicle.

That's laughable.  313 complaints out of millions of vehicles sold.

Also one last year for something vacuum related and one this year for the transmission.

Your coworker is a moron. If your truck is flex fuel capable then there won’t be any long term negative effects. You can’t let E85 sit for to long like gas. If your truck is going to sit for any length of time then I’d run a stabilizer for ethanol in it or run some gas through it.

My ctsv runs E85 exclusively but it’s my weekend car so I run Lucas ethanol treatment in it every tank and once every couple of months I’ll run a tank of 93 through it to kinda wash everything out. But don’t worry you’ll be fine

If your truck is not flex fuel capable then you are receiving no benefit from the ethanol except maybe some money savings because E is cheaper than gas.  But then again your hurting your fuel mileage so the savings is pretty much a wash. The throttle improvement is merely in your head.

Since you're so bored, why don't you give us the dictionary definition of the word EXCLUSIVELY? When you're done, please explain your post above. You are quick to point out other people's faults...when you gave me the definition of OPINION (that was clearly NOT in your original post) I took it as okay but you wanna continue to be the teacher here so please, explain your post.

Looks like someone is going to be leaving GM forum and joining a Ford forum. Bet we get 10 new recent ford owners for every one that leaves GM.

Is that what you've been doing for the last 3hrs?  Going through my old posts trying to stick it to me lol!!!  Youre reaching but its funny.  I have a big smile on my face while I type this.  Thanks for that as this day has been kinda crummy up to this point

I don't have to explain anything to you but... I will, why not.  Stating the definition of a word to someone is not pointing out their faults.  I didn't call you or anybody else in here stupid.  You guys were having trouble recognizing an opinion made by someone so I just helped you have a better chance at catching it in the future

If I run 6 tanks of gas through my car a year and the rest of the time I run E85 I'd call that pretty exclusive.  But in the true definition of the word its not exclusively.  Got me on that one lol!  I'll give it to you

Not once was I trying to teach anybody anything.  This thread is riddled with people making statements and claiming them as facts, you yourself included.  "How may ecoboost Ford's have over 150,000 miles on them ?

Not many because they are shot by then because they run so hot. Fact"

A statement made with absolutely no proof to back it up so therefore it is an OPINION not a FACT

I said I think the Ecoboost is a better motor and the Ford is built better.  You said "IMPOSSIBLE" yet provided nothing whatsoever that would proved my statement as an impossibility.  Therefore you stated an OPINION

You're now intentionally picking a fight with me and its childish.  You know Im right but for some reason want to keep going.  I said it before and I'll say it again.  I love my Silverado.  When it comes to certain things IN MY OPINION I think the Ford is better.  You disagree so what.  That's the beauty of public forums.  We can disagree and debate and argue etc.  We all own the trucks in question for a reason whether we think theyre perfect or not.

Ford hasn't had a good truck engine since they ditched the OHV 305's and 351's in the mid/late 90's. The DOHC Coyote is a great sports car engine, and recently it is arguably better than GM's NA LT motors in terms of HP potential, but it is not very well suited as a truck engine IMO. DOHC usually attributes to making peak power at high revs, not low and midrange power like the LT's, which is great for your track car, but not so much your tow pig. The 5.0L used to be torque-less below 3,000rpm but they have since improved its power curve drastically. The ecoboost's are inefficient under load, and are under higher stress from the turbos and higher piston speeds, and have as many or more moving parts as a comparable OHV V8. There is no noticeable weight savings either. These factors will lead to a shorter service life. If you work a small engine hard its whole life, it is going to wear out faster than a large engine limping around for its life, it is simple physics. This is why (until now) we don't have 4 cylinders in large pickups. Now lets remember the Triton engines, I had two family members and 3 close friends (in a town of 10,000 people) that have personally lost a 5.4L due to cam phaser issues. One was out of warranty and paid $11,000CAD by the time he got a brand new 5.4L 3V dropped into his 6 year old truck, plus the month he was down without a vehicle, so those motors sucked. They haven't made a good diesel since the 7.3L, the 6.7L had the potential to be great but it was hindered by aftertreatment issues (commonplace in diesels today, thanks EPA).

Now, Ford has introduced a potential LS/LT killer. It is a 7.3L cast iron Big block, port injected, OHV V8 destined for the Super Duties. These things will be stout to say the least. 6 bolt mains, 7.3L stock displacement, cast iron, injected, you will see these things make 1,000hp with a blower on a stock bottom end easy. Let's just hope it doesn't give them any ideas to produce an real engine for the F150. Took them long enough to steal GM's design.

Check your quotes...wasn’t me, never mentioned anything running hot. 1,000,000 times better (you did say better) is an IMPOSSIBILITY in the context you used it in. Anyway wasn’t picking a fight with you lol, I have a smile now too! Just pointing out none of us are perfect...oh and BTW I didn’t search your posts, I remembered it from reading it...didn’t say a word until you broke out the dictionary. I love my GMC too and I’m sure if it wasn’t a Sierra, it would be a Silverado
