what happened with your old setup before you went long travel? did you sell it?

Badass rig man.

Yeah I sold the old set up. In a few months, I'll be deleting 4WD and selling the current front and rear suspension set up; I'll be sure to make a post here when the time comes.

Let me know, looking into possibly getting a setup soon enough so still debating what to run with. If you do sell soon lmk what you're looking to get and location.

Did you convince yourself to go 3.0 in the back instead of 2.5? Just wondering decision process. I know 3.0 obviously should perform better. Also, are you tuning the shocks yourself? Wondering how hard that is or if its best to get a shock tuning pro to set it up. Great build.

Is the housing custom made or pre-made somewhere?

Yeah I went 3.0s in the rear. I will be keeping the 2.5/3.0 shock package for my new front set up, longer shock length. Shock tuning, valving etc is not my expertise so I'll have it professionally tuned.

Is that third brake light housing plastic or metal. If it’s plastic you’re hurting your radio signal you need a metal surface for a good ground plane.

Metal, the only non-metal 3rd brake light I know of is from IzzyFab, his is from carbon composites.

Removed the Camburg Mid-travel kit up front (also deleted 4WD) and went with a long travel kit from Dirt King; strapped at 18.5 inches of travel. Just got my +6 front and rear fenders back from paint and 37's will be installed this weekend. I'll post better photos soon, here's a teaser!

@AZ_RADO_RNR  sweet! you plan on rocking this set up with the DK bed cage and shocks for now or you still snowballing this bad boy?

Yeah I'll be running this setup for all of 2021, I need alot of seat time in the truck. As of right now, I'm working on finalizing pricing to do the following:

  • Cab Cage
  • Engine Cage
  • Rear Backhalf
  • Traditional Link's (No short course links for me)
  • Rear Shock Package (3.0s + 3.5s??)
  • Lacing the frame + plating / gussets
  • 70gal Fuel Cell
  • Wilwood Brakes
  • Camburg Rear End (40 Spline Axels, Spool, etc..)
  • Custom plumbing (fuel cell, wiring)
  • PRP Racing Seats (Front & Rear)
  • Custom Interior (Headliner, dash, console, etc..)
  • Hubs
  • Other stuff im missing

All of the big name shops are booked a year out so none of this would get started until 2022 + all these shops require a 1 year downtime so I wouldn't have the truck back until 2023.

What’s your process to budget for a build like this? In terms of talking to various shops for example for a cab cage. They are all so busy right now like you said. I think they get a lot of tire kickers so are not that great at quoting work (my experience). Do you find that’s the case or has it not been so bad dealing with the shops and talking to them as you make a decision who to go with? And maybe more specifically what factors do you take when selecting a fabricator? I can’t imagine sending my 4 year old truck off to get town down for a cage haha. Great build though love following this.
