Took mine (2019 RST) to the dealer today. Was doing very same thing and was constant. The service manager had fixed one truck before so they told me what to do and it works.
Lower both headrest down low as they will go. That’s it and it will go away. The posts rattle the inserts if they are up.

Mine were as low as they could go & rattled at every position from the time I took delivery until the tech spread the bars apart. Haven’t had an issue with them since. They shouldn’t  rattle regardless of the position.

I agree fully ! They cost way to much to have stuff like that going on. I’m glad to hear that yours got fixed as well.

Glad I found this thread! This has been driving me crazy! I took it into the dealer, and he said others had complained as well, so he submitted a ticket to GMC. Hopefully if enough complain they'll come out with a fix. In the meantime I'll try spreading the bars apart a bit.

Yes.  I had the same issue.  Removed the headrest and it went away.  I will try spreading them apart more.  Should have been caught in squeak and rattle test at the plant.

Same problem here 2019 high country.  Thought about spreading the posts a little but would like them fixed properly if GM has a correct fix ?  I guess the dealer fix would be ordering new grommets or headrests ?  So nice we have this forum to help figure this stuff out ! Thanks everyone !

Mine rattles noticeably at low speeds on rough pavement. Going to check this out tomorrow I had hit all the parts back there with my hand and could not duplicate the rattle. Thought it was the headrest at the time. Dang GM 70k rattle TRAPS. Great QC GM Hahahaha

Could be the covers for the seatbelts up in the C-pillars. Mine were loose as well as the driver and passengers ones

Yes, I have the same issue in my 2020 GMC 2500 HD AT4.  Like you, it took me a while to figure out what it was.  I removed the headrests and the rattle disappeared.  With the headrest off, you can wiggle the metal bars and hear/feel the top of those bars hitting the inside of the headrest.  If they didn't fold down and were stationary, I suspect they wouldn't rattle.  I'm trying to figure out what I can do to stop this.  May try pulling the bars apart as suggested I this string.

Awesome.   So glad I found this thread. That is the only issue I've had with my truck in almost 5 months. It started right after I put in the Kicker subwoofer so I thought it was something sinister going on.   I just left them out,  I need to take it in for the brake recall and they can fix it then.

Same issue with mine. I tipped them down and wrapped the seat belt strap around to keep pressure. Tried to pull them out but was afraid i would brake something. May try that again.

Theres a little button on the grommet that you gotta squeeze in, then pull up on the headrest
