I don't suppose there is a way to get Waze up on the HMI screen is there?

Waze is displayed via your phone connected using CarPlay/Android Auto. CP/AA was introduced in 2016 (initially with CarPlay for some early model 2016).

2017+ should have CP/AA as an option for mid level and higher trucks.

There were also some 2016 trucks were GM used the older (leftover) 2.0 HMI’s so those trucks won’t have CP/AA.

If I was a cop and saw videos playing while you're driving I'd pull your ass over and read you the riot act. Not very smart if you ask me. Actually it's about as dumb as it gets. Dumb with a capital D.

There's a reason it's setup from the factory not to play videos while you're driving. You're supposed to be watching the road not videos

The yes sir part was a joke .

I only need the video in motion for my family for a upcoming trip.

Maybe I should have stated that at the beginning of this thread.

1000 apologies....

I'm so f'ing tired of distracted drivers texting, checking emails, whatever, it pisses me off when someone has to stay updated on everything.

We go hands free here in Minnesota in August. I can't wait. It's like an epidemic here. Younger women are the worst. With a capital W.

I have videos playing in motion all the time.  I'm an adult and can make my own decisions.  I did it mostly for my daughter so she can watch cartoons on road trips.  Do I stare at a movie going down the highway - no, but I do glance at it from time to time.  Absolutely no difference in that and glancing at HVAC controls, radio, a billboard, a hot chick on the sidewalk, etc.   Better stay in Minnesota and not come to Louisiana.  I'd hate to piss you off.  ?

Oh and FYI, I typed this post while driving 65mph steering with my knee!  Oh the horror!  ?

Exactly.  If you dont have small kids, you just dont know.  A little peace and quiet is literally priceless.  It aint the greatest parenting letting your kids zombie off like that, but sometimes,  maintaining your sanity is important.

We all have different needs for our rides and there are enough trim levels on our trucks available to prove it.  It would be nice if people didnt insult an entire group of humans simply because they have different needs and desires for their things.

I do get pretty angry when there is a knucklehead in front of me texting and the light turns green.  But that is what loud horns are for.

We can all justify our needs, wants, decisions in all aspects of life.

My generation didn't have video, smart phones, computers and we made it to adulthood.

Just saying.

Estimated 40 K auto deaths last year, over 30 K at least.

Looking at controls or girls is a given but texting, talking, videoing isn't necessary.

It's available and not against the law in a lot of places.

I rarely use a phone when driving, my choice.

I will pull over to use it or they wait. 99% of phone use is not an emergency.

Ask my wife about cell phones and distracted drivers. She will pay for the rest of her life due to a person using a cell phone while driving.

So yea I'm biased you could say but I also like to be on the top side of the dirt rather than the under side of the dirt due to a dumb mistake.

So bash all you want but I for one will drive the old way.

:)
