Electric Motor noise when opening the door.

I purchased my new AT4 last month. Now that the excitement is wearing off I have started to notice little things about the truck. Every time I open the door I can hear an electric motor noise. This truck has the standard side step bumpers. Is it possible that the factory installed the electric motor for a retractable step on the truck?

Likely the fuel pump priming.

It should only happen when opening driver door and truck has been sitting for awhile.

This is normal on 2014+ Trucks and SUV with Direct Injected engines.

Could it be the tailgate locking mechanism? I can hear mine when I open my driver's door after it's sat unlocked for awhile in the garage...

The ejection seat is the most likely source of the noise.

It's probably cycling the blinker fluid on the new LED taillights.

It’s the electronic parking brake doing a cycle

muffler bearings getting grease  ....fuel pump.

Yes the fuel pumps building the pressure back up.

LOL does sound a bit like an aircraft!

Note to self: to avoid excessive wear on the fuel pump, don't open the driver's door when just getting something out of the truck.
