Talk me out of a Ram.

It's going to be even better in 2021 when Ford starts selling the updated F150s.  Should be some pretty good incentives on Ram 1500 and GM 1500 pickups by then.

There were really good incentives back in March when I got my RST for $10k off. That was one of the reasons why I was surprised Dodge outsold Chevrolet, but they had the $15k off. I looked at the Ram and looked for a used 2012 Ram and Silverado.. the Ram was consistently $10k less for identically equipped models compared to the Silverado so I went for the Silverado.

I want to pull the trigger on a new Silverado but my gut says wait until 2020.

Nothing wrong with that.

But, my 19 has been perfect. Honestly, I couldn't be more happier.

I would only wait, personally, if you're wanting a 6.2L engine option in one of the Silverado models that currently only offers the 5.3L. Otherwise, there are basically no differences in the 2019 and 2020's.

You'll likely pay more for a 2020, as there will be much lesser incentives / rebates on them in the months ahead.

You couldn’t pay me to take a ram.

I just finished up lemoning my 2017 Jeep SRT

88,000 truck, spent 185 days in service first 18 months of ownership.

FCA is just garbage under the flashy parts...

Every week a Service bulletin was released... every part took 3-4 weeks to get... dealer and corporate were just clueless on everything.

I see those new rams and I just laugh in joy I’m not driving it. 80% of the parts are the same...

Absolute 0/10

The same formula should be working for GM/Chevy.  In my military town the new generation vehicles are all over:  Rams, Sierra, Chevy mostly

Why would that formula be working the same? Yeah, they offer a 2019 Silverado LD. Unfortunately it's not available in a crew cab, so that already eliminates it as a option for 75+ percent of truck buyers these day. The lack of leather, a center console, and other features combine to make the truck a very hard sell. Especially when a Ram Classic offers all those options, plus 20% off MSRP. There's a significant difference between what a 2019 Silverado LD offers buyers, and what Ram is offering buyers in a 2019 Ram Classic.

That's because the classics are cheaper right now.  Gotta get rid of the older models.

If Ram wanted to "get rid of the older models", they wouldn't be pumping out Ram Classics at their production plant right now. They just introduced a bunch of special edition paint colors, as well as some limited edition packages for some regions. Ram shows no sign of shutting down production of the Classic.

Oh. I read your post wrong. I thought you meant that 88,000 [Ram] trucks spent (an average of) 185 days in service in the first 18 months.

Lol.. all good

Nah my $88,000 SRT sat while I drove around in a Jeep Compass for months.....

Got a lawyer, we sued and won. Got all my money back, including sales tax and lawyer fees.

I would not buy a ram. Not a chance in hell

Just so you guys know...

the 2019 RAM already has

  • 133 technical service bulletins
  • 11 unique recalls
  • 211 filed NHSTA documented complaints.

many folks dont look into this shit...   those numbers are outrageous.

It was a similar story with the Jeep.... junk

you'll pay a ton more.

I got my AT4 12K off msrp in July.  66MSRP - got it for 54

2019s will hang around until 3rd/4th quarter.

they wont be discounting 2020s much until next year..... so your talking about a 5-7K premium to get an early 2020

Where can I find the information? I want to look up data on the Sierra.  I ask because I saw 350 plus TSBs on the 19’ Sierra.  I appreciate the assistance.

Great website.  Most issues surround the classics - other 19’ models Longhorn, Limited, Laramie seem to be good.  Sierra, seem to be good, however, Denali has 3 listings.  I am still working my Sierra deal with a number of dealerships.
