I definitely will, I already have paid for it, won’t ship till December or January unfortunately. Where are you seeing exhaust for the 2.7 I can’t find it on AFE website. I would really be interested in a catless downpipe and also a bigger FMIC
 
If someone cracks the ECU for tuning we could run e85 and make some real power. Exhaust, intake and FMIC on e85 would easily make more power than a 6.2

In your dreams! You’re assuming you can squeeze out at the least 110 hp more out of a 4 cylinder, lmao. You want a high performance motor, you start with a 420 hp 6.2 and go from there. I’ve personally easily beaten every truck that’s ever tried to race me and being lifted I’ve only got a SuperChips tuned 6.2 set on performance adding between 25-30 hp and that’s it, no exhaust or air intake, don’t embarrass yourself trying to take on a 6.2. You buy an economical motor for the sake of saving money, don’t throw your money away attempting to make it more than what it is, an economical means of transportation for hauling and light towing.

I believe this thread is a darn good example of why we have different options with the engine's and trim levels.  Its your money,  spend it on what you want/need or can afford and be happy for those who pick something different instead of complaining about their decision

The 2.7 is a great little motor and it’s a “darn” good reason to stick with discussing the 2.7 options and stay within the parameters of reality and not fascinate on 6.2’s. Seems like every other discussion is about comparing or competing with the 6.2. Best to stick to reality and not throw ones money away but PLEASE don’t add a rice burner sounding exhaust on it, you’ll regret it down the road lol

First off, this is a truck, not a race car. Anyone “racing” a 5000lb truck is an idiot. You should educate yourself on boost, e85 etc. Plenty of 4 cylinders out there that mop the floor with V8s. I’m a V8 guy at heart, I have had a turbo Cobra, supercharged 5.0 coyote etc I’m not new to the game. We will just have to wait and see how this engine responds to mods. My 2018 WRX, which was a 2.0 made over 400 AWHP with full bolt ons. Stock it was rated at 264hp. So making an additional 100+ hp out of a factory boosted engine is not hard.

No one is “fascinating” on the 6.2. It was merely an example or comparison that a modern boosted 4 cylinder can make V8 power. Now boost the V8 and it’s a different story obviously

First off, this is a truck, not a race car. Anyone “racing” a 5000lb truck is an idiot. You should educate yourself on boost, e85 etc. Plenty of 4 cylinders out there that mop the floor with V8s. Ummm, I thought we were talking about trucks? But, my slant nose would have spanked your little Subaru and sent you home with your tail between your legs but those days are long gone. The point I’ve made is “stick to reality” by the time someone is done investing so much into their addiction of even coming close to a 6.2 you could’ve spent the extra money on actually buying a 6.2. Besides, high chance you’ll break something along the way not to mention throw your warranty out the window

Personally, I believe he should first start leaving it stock and run a simple SuperChips tune on it, go from there where it’s very easy to adjust what needs adjusting and undo what’s been done, that’s “if” it’s even available

Anyway, yes I see your point the 6.2 is clearly the better platform if it’s power your after. However I’m a gear head and I mess with everything I buy lol my only plans are to add the AFE Intake and maybe, and that’s a big maybe a down pipe, no catback or an annoying exhaust. But I won’t be doing any other mods this truck is my daily driver.

Back on track, besides superchips are there any other companies that mess with tuning. I would imagine HP Tuners would have something for the T1 in the works

I have the 5.3 and wont change the exhaust because of it sounding like something other than a V8,  but to each their own,  if someone likes that sound I say go for it

I wouldn’t count the little 2.7 out as far as performance goes. Hopefully it performs as well as the Ford 2.7. That motor in a F 150 crew cab 2wd ran the 1/4 in 14.2.  That motor in a crew cab 4wd Ranger with just a tune ran 8.8 in the 1/8th, which would be roughly a mid-high 13 1/4 mile, smoking any stock GM 6.2.
