$2500 for lift and install included or just for installation? If it’s for both that’s cheap!

That was just labor.

My local shop took 3 days. 4 wheel parts said they would take the truck in at opening and have it ready by closing time. I questioned that! I like people to take their time and do it right. I'd use a local shop because if you have any issues, you can drive back locally for them to fix the issue. And their will always be some sort of adjustment that needs to be resolved! Also, for example, my local shop requires you to return after at least 500 miles so they can triple check everything and retorque everything.

Why would you question that?  It’s what they do. Your local shop took 3 or 4 days because they probably had one guy doing the work in a shop with a couple of bays and other vehicles to be worked on. 4wheel Parts dedicates a team of guys to each build in a shop the size of grocery store with multiple bays. Just cause they can churn vehicles out in a day or two doesn’t mean they’re doing shotty work. They to require you to return so they can retorque everything

i do agree OP should stay local. It makes absolutely no sense to drive 4hrs to get a lift installed when a local place will do it for the same price. Turning it into a mini vacation is just adding cost to the whole thing which I gathered you were trying to avoid

Why do I question it? Because it's to much work for an 8 hour shift no matter who's doing it. And if you call any other place like I did, they are all 2-3 days. And no, my shop doesn't just have 1 guy working while doing other cars. It's a group of guys same as they do at 4 wheel parts. I went to 4 wheel parts and their shop & employee count is pretty much the same as my local shop. So you really believe 4 wheel parts dedicates an army of guys to just do your vehicle throughout the day and forget about the other cars that need to get worked on? I really don't think that's gonna happen. And I never said anything about shoddy work, if they did shoddy work they'd be out of business a long time ago. I simply prefer to wait and have the local shop do it and take their time. I don't care how many careful professional people are working the truck but the fact remains that 8 hours to do all the work I had done is rushing.

That's just me!

Relax you guys it's Christmas time ?

It's going to be a good Christmas for me again.

Last Christmas I bought my 18 Black Silverado and pretty much gave my wife my 18 Silver Silverado.

This year I told ? I want a lift kit. I told ? I don't need wheels , just the lift kit and tires. I'll worry about the install too.

Well ? stopped by the garage a little bit ago and said " Go ahead and order the wheels too. You were good this year."

Then she left and said don't be up all night again.?

So for the last couple hours I been filling my cart at Custom Offsets. They got the best package deal on what I want.

I'm just going to order everything I need and take it to 4 Wheel Parts. Pay the price and drive away like a badass.

I'm pretty set on the McGaughys 7"-9" set at 8"

Add a leaf so it has some rake. I don't do that saggy ass look. Cali lean or Carolina whatever. Yuck.

Probably go with these wheels. I'm not dropping 2 G on wheels. I'll keep my 22" snowflakes for winter with some cheap Atturo AT 37" tires.

Savage off-road 22x10 -24

Chrome wheels.

Toyo Open Country AT II

37x12.50xR22LT

I'm for sure going with the McGaughys.

The wheels I kind of just picked because I liked how they would be easy to clean. And the look.

The tires are high on my list but not set in stone. I can't make up my mind if I want to do a hybrid.

I got some time to decide I probably won't place the order until I confirm offset and availability. I don't want that 12 wide -44 tires sticking out 3"-4" look. I can live with some but not that much. I'm old.

Here's my cart.

Oh and I'll probably regear it too just not right away. So relax on the regearing.

Good price on the lift by the way.

One person can instal that lift in a home garage in a weekend On jack stands and you’re questioning how a few people can knock it out in a day with a lift and thousands worth of tools and equipment?. LoooooooLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!  I’m seriously laughing out loud really I am.

and stop trying to be extra knowing damn well you went to 4Wheel Parts and made it as far as the counter and that’s it. You didn’t go count employee heads and really question how they could get it done so fast.

you do you bro. Op will be pleased with the work done from 4WP.

congrats OP. Truck is gonna be sweet when it’s done

Listen, I'm not arguing this. I gave my opinion for my lift and related install because I'm the one that paid for my work. Everyone chooses where they want to get things done. I'm certain the OP will have good work done. I'm not questioning their workmanship or efficiency. I've bought parts from them, matter of fact, my Bilsteins came from them. All I was simply stating was that I felt more comfortable going to a local shop and having the work done there in the longer period of time that they take. I feel more comfortable with that. Maybe it's stupid, I'm aware of that, but that's just me. I don't need anyone to rush when doing a job like that and I'm never in a rush. I fly for a living so for me it's ok, I drop my truck off, go to work and pick up 3-4 days later. Remember, I had other little details also installed where that personal service comes in with a local shop to listen to you and take their time to understand what you want. That's the choice I made. I don't want my post to be misinterpreted as if I was putting down 4 wheel part's work. That's not the intention. And I totally agree, OP's truck will be great!

22"s or 20''s?

Some of the 20" wheel tire combo's are a few hundred bucks cheaper. I could get nicer wheels and probably still save a hundred.

I really like these all these wheels . They look similar. I'd be happy with any of these.

What do you guys like?

I like more tire and less wheel, I'd definitely go 20" personally. Not big on chrome wheels so it's hard for me to pick a style out of those other than advising against fuel. Have you checked the CO gallery for the same lift and negative offset you're looking at? I think you said the McGaughys lift doesn't increase track width too much, but when I had 9" -19 wheels with a BDS kit, the tires stuck out pretty good. I liked it but I also think you said you didn't really want that. You can search the gallery to see what you're looking at and make sure you want to go that far negative.

Congrats and good hunting, sounds awesome!

DONE DEAL

Merry Christmas to me????

I just placed the order with Custom Offsets.

McGaughys 7"-9" basic kit.

Add a leaf kit.

20x10 -19 Scorpion SC29 wheels

Nitto Ridge Grappler

37x12.50x20LT

I was going to go with a offset close to zero but I didn't like anything enough to pull the trigger on. These will stick out some I'm not sure how much but not as much as a -44 with a 13.50 tire like most of the younger dudes are running. I'll probably have to get the wheel flares as much as I don't want to I think they are kind of ugly but so are Rock chips.

My Black paint is already pissed about this?

Did you look in the Custom offsets gallery? Tons of trucks there like yours with the size and offset you chose. You're quick, Lol!! It took me like a month of research to figure out what I would want. Congratulations on your purchase. It will look good! The size and offset you chose will be perfect.

    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
    • Atlas, you kill me As aggravating as a project like this can be you have been unable to hide your fascination with learning and using that angst against this beast like a Ninjitsu Master. It amuses you, admit it now.      BTW, love your writing style. 😉
