I have a 19 silverado rst and the tailgate won’t come down sometimes u can hear the actuator working but nothing happens   Sometimes it’ll open somtimes it won’t any ideas y this does this or anybody else have the same problem

Just curious, but are you pressing the wrong button? I have found myself pressing the top button to open it which won't work (and you hear the actuator going) unless the tailgate is down first.

Then I press the bottom button and it works fine.

I have the same issue. I have literally taken the torsion spring out and actuator, cleaned and added molly grease. it started to work but after 20ish times it needs help again.

some tonneau covers are not friendly with the power tailgate.  you may be able to adjust your cover.  does it work with the cover off or open?

Doesn’t matter if it’s on flat ground or pointing up hill it seems to only work when it wants to

Cold or warm weather make a difference?

Does it seem to be getting worse?

If it did it all the time then I would say to try helping it a little by hand to see if just a little pressure would help.  Possibly a bad or weak motor?

Warmer seems to work better than the cold

I have to push button twice on tailgate itself, no biggie.....inside or fob just once

This might sound stupid but when its cold mind freezes up specially if its freshly washed or lots of humid air like today. But rocking it back and forth usually does it for me
