Stephen L. Pannell Posted November 9, 2020 Author Posted November 9, 2020 Just ordered the Pulsar LT Control Module. Makes speed limiter changes up to 140mph. That should be enough

That should be enough I think that your rear end ratio and the engine power will limit you right before then. The old police tahoes had 5.3l with 3.08 rear ends and would do 139. The new 2021 police models have 5.3l with 3.23 ratios and show 130 as a top speed. I'd be interested in seeing what yours will do when removed. I'm getting my WAMS deal in the mail soon.
redwngr Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Transmission top gear ratio also matters.....
Colossus Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Keep in mind the interceptor tahoes are 2WD not 4WD.

What's really sad though, is that Dodge has lowered the top speed of the 5.7L Hemi Charger Police package to 140 MPH, same as the 3.6L V-6. Weird and disappointing to many state police agencies who liked the upper 155+ MPH top speed the Charger offered. That now puts the Ford Explorer police Interceptor with the 3.0 Egoboost as the quickest. 148 MPH top speed, 0-60 5.75 sec. https://www.michigan.gov/documents/msp/2021PreliminaryVehicleTestData_706059_7.pdf

It was still climbing at 135, but I let off. Edited November 15, 2020 by SILVER SLED
AJ Sullivan Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Has anyone with a T1 CCSB deleted the speed limiter and run it up? How high did you get it and how did it feel? I am still waiting on mine to get done.

Not sure what they removed the limiter with, but that's the speed they shut down at. {edit} Looks like it was a 2018 model, now that I found the video Edited December 2, 2020 by jddealer update
Stephen L. Pannell Posted December 29, 2020 Author Posted December 29, 2020 I set mine to 130 although the speedometer goes to 140. Took it to 120 and it was rock solid and still climbing fast. No doubt in my mind that it would peg 140 if I so chose. What I like most is the throttle sensitivity increase. No lag whatsoever and even seems to change the trans mission up shift and downshift points. Full power now at the hit. Got to be careful because it will break the tires loose under 40 mph. Once I replace these T rated tires with some new H rated Bridgestone shoes I won't be nervous about taking it all the way.
Mike Bradberry Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 It has zero to do with truck packages. It's strictly tire rating issues. I have a 2021 AT4 with the 18" rims and my brother has a 2021 AT4 with the 20" rims. I cut out at 98 and his cuts out at 112ish. 1

I ended up getting WAMS which came with a ton of other things added

Well to be completely honest its considerably more involved than just the tire rating; many of these trucks have tires rated well beyond the top speed they are limited at. The Trucks actually have several limiters and whatever one is the lowest is the one the system utilizes. Generally this is the transfer case limit or everyones favorite the driveshaft limit If you hang around long enough with the high speed guys about 50% of the time they have a driveshaft pretzel horror story lol 1
TNTSierra Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 My 2018 Sierra SLT 6.2L with 8 speed, Gibson Catback exhaust, S&B CAI, and Hypertech power programmer hit 130 MPH in a breeze, but my tires were only rated for that speed so that’s where I set the speed limiter too.
