What are you getting with a Denali trim level that you don't get with SLT Premium Plus?  The premium plus seems pretty loaded but I am having a hard time tracking what options I'd miss out on by not getting a Denali.

Adaptive ride, power running boards, 22" wheels, chrome bling if you like that sorta thing................should be pretty easy to compare using the GM configurator.

Since the SLT can get the tech package this year, the line between them really blurs depending upon how each is equipped. It’s actually possible to load an SLT above a base Denali in equipment/ features save for the adaptive ride, steps, and special interior materials.

Adaptive ride control sounds like the one thing I might want.   I like all the tech but don't really care about 22" wheels or bling.

Powersteps are only available on Denali, and only available in Denali Ultimate Package (PEC).

The  composite bed is only available on AT4 and Denali.

22's are optional on both Denali and SLT.

( 22's are included with some of the optional packages)

For me personally the Denali is not worth the extra 10k. The rest is just worthless gadgets to me. Yes the adaptive ride is nice, but the interior differences are not that big at all, and especially not 10k of a difference, sorry.

While searching for my truck I asked this question, because I wanted a fully loaded truck, but I do not like nor want any chrome on it. I asked about fully loading a non-denali and how close that would get me to the denali itself. they showed me a denali vs a highly equipped non-denali sierra, looking inside though there was a very obvious difference in the quality of the interior, the leather specifically. the sierra looked like nice quality plastic leather, the denali looked like nice quality genuine leather (which I think it is...but I could but wrong about that) I have also heard that the wood trim in the denali is real wood, although if you pop the trim panels off it will make you wonder if that's really true, if it is real wood is must be an awfully thin veneer glued into plastic. either way, the interior of the denali was much better. same basic design, just much nicer looking in terms of materials.

On top of that of course the active ride control, other options that others have mentioned and of course the denali badging, such as the steering wheel saying Denali instead of GMC, or Sierra...whatever the non-denali says. plus the exterior badging and the front grill which is not only chrome, but also a unique design for the denali.

for me at least it was worth it, I got the Denali...and took all the chrome off of it. no regrets!

X2

It comes down to needs/wants and just your personal opinion.  As others have stated they did not think the extra cost was worth it, while others like myself believe the Denali was the better choice.  Don't think you can really go wrong either way, need to make the right choice for yourself, but if it were me I'd get the Denali all over again in a heartbeat

Another benefit:

I would think that a basic Denali  would have a higher resale value vs a loaded to max SLT ( which is about the same price).

Adaptive ride control would be the biggest thing. I really wish they offered it on my High Country. I read this year they ARE adding it to this years model. I really wanted this. It truly makes a difference on how the truck drives and rides.

I also had the opportunity to drive a 2 SS camaro with Magnetic ride control compared to one without, and wow what a difference!  It is truly night and day

Good luck with your decision

Another difference is the interior colours available.

Both are available in jet black (even though the material is different)

SLT has 'Dark Walnut/Slate' available

Denali has 'Dark Walnut/Dark Ash Grey' available.

(and AT4's are  'Jet Black with Kalahari Accents' )
