Brake lights

My brake lights stopped working intermittently. Now they are permanently out. Checked the bulb, good. Checked the wire, good. What could be causing this?

Does your cruise still work? Check the switch under the dash by the brake pedal.

Yes Crystal works. I will check the switch today.

fuse? relay? or switch?

I checked the fuses that was not a problem. If it was a switch it would be both sides correct? I think it's a ground I'm going to test it this upcoming weekend.

your post stated you had NO brake lights not 1 out so diagnosis is different. check power and ground then back track the circuit if bad change the bulb even tho it may appear good. likely culprit is bad light socket

Found the problem. When I drop the spare tire there is an electrical junction. Right by the trailer light harness. It was rusted all out and everything was corroded. Clean it up and now they work. Thanks for the help!

I don't know what the junction is called. I couldn't find it in the manual. I need the whole thing replaced. Thanks for the help!

I also had to replace the driver side tail light harness.
