Picked up my crew cab standard box RST on Thursday. Couldn't be happier. Love the shape of the hood from the driver's seat and just the overall styling and design of the exterior. And I actually like the layout of the interior, looks far better in person than in pictures. The truck is missing a few things that my 15 LTZ had, but I like the look and color far more. Woke up Friday morning and pulled it out of the garage just to stare at it in the sunlight. And also to let my 2 year old son play in the cab and bed, haha4 points

I just finished helping my neighbor install the ATAK on his 2019 Silverado. We took our time and were done in just 1hr 15 minutes using a 2 post lift. Fit was great and sounds healthy on his 6.2 without being obnoxious. Nice!2 points

Yep, agree. Seems way too complex. It has a lot of new this and that to pass EPA and get good mileage. Not a first year engine buy for sure. IF one gets one, one better get 100,000 mile power train wty. . 6.2 seems a better choice right now. .1 point

2019 Sierra Crew Cab SLT X31 5.3L with SLT Premium Plus and Sunroof. Sticker was just shy of $60,000, they brought it down to almost $45,000 before TTL. I ended up getting around $10,000 off the sticker out the door. I feel okay with the deal. It was a retired service loaner with 2,500 miles which helped on the price. They also gave me a fair number for my 2016 Silverado trade.1 point

They feel like my shop does during a F-16 phase or when a certain type of other plane comes in, contractor or not [emoji23] You guys are that bad, but sometimes with the military it’s like an invasion. If that fancy fighter comes in that we have like 4 of built before yours comes in, we have no room. They bring like the whole crew Chief section Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro1 point

Hey, got my oil sample back from a 3rd party after this oil cooling line blew all the oil out of the engine and it came back good no traces of any metal.? Good peice of mind to have after this incident. If this happened to you I’d recommend getting your oil tested too. Cheap to do for reasurance1 point

Bro, they’re OEM mice. I’ve got two, one from sales and one from service. They have little name tags. Keep trying to sell me an extended warranty. Well, they were... this month they’re on a European vacation, in my Mini. EDIT - mine aren’t homeless, druggie mice. But, they are bigoted A-holes? some problems, even Chevrolet can’t fix.1 point

Ha. Think about how we feel here in Colorado and other western mountain states where we get a huge influx of California liberals that want to change all the laws here to reflect what they have in Cali.1 point

Yesterday I didn't park in the shade while at work so truck cooked out in the sun. Thermometer in the ac vent said 125. It maxes out at 125. The truck's outside temp said 99 or there abouts. Today truck was 102 inside and it was 100 again outside according to the truck. Shade helps more than tinted windows and windshield shade apparently. Helped a friend move a couch, table, and chairs. Second run finished and unloaded to the stairwell of the apartment complex right as the skies opened up. On my trip home I got some interesting dashcam footage, especially when the trip home is less than 5 miles.1 point

Followed it up with new front rotors and pads, originals went 73k. I'd mentioned a brake pulse to the dealer when they replaced my spare tire (free), so they replaced the rear pads/shoes/rotors 600 miles ago (free), but unfortunately didn't cure the issue. Rather than deal with going back there twice (drop off and pick up, only 10 miles away), I figured spending the $120 on parts and doing it myself was more economical, and I could be assured the job was done right. Inside pads were worn more than the outside ones, but still double the minimum thickness at 6/32", but were only contacting the rotors with the center 1/2 of the pad due to rust build up on the rotor. As most probably do, the pads were freezing in the shims, preventing proper release. I went with Raybestos rotors and pads, as I'd always had great longevity with that brand on previous vehicles going back to the early '90s. We'll see how long they last; I usually go well over 100k on pads, so they should at least match the factory stuff. The front breaks had never been done, as I had to break through the factory loc-tite on the caliper brackets. It stopped much better than my F150 before, and stops even better now... I've always been far more concerned with the stopping than the going.1 point

I just ordered a new condenser myself when I had this issue. I installed it myself. It's really simple. So far so good, 2 weeks going strong in this Houston heat with no issues. I have a pick of the old one. It was so thin it was impossible for me to repair. I fixed 1 leak and another popped up, so I replaced it and kept it in case of a recall?. The new condenser was only $110 on rockauto.1 point

I did this all a few weeks ago but just now getting around to posting it. Installed a pair of ARH headers that i got from a member here along with new NGK spark plugs and MSD wires while I was in there. I then got a Magnaflow 12587 to 3" tips installed with a BBP tune. As of right now i think the MF 12587 is too quiet. Im fairly certain with this setup the engine noise/header noise is louder than the back end of the truck. Im leaning towards either a MF 14161 or a Jones 3535XL to a single 5" tip dumped after axle. The BBP tune is easily the best mod I've done so far. I highly recommend it to anyone that has any sort of shifting issue with the 8 speed tranny. It completely transformed how the truck drives and its much more enjoyable now.1 point

Brought it in for its 15K mile maintenance, 14,131 on it, now. It’s being washed, now. Then I’m going to go get some food for tomorrow’s dinner party. Making Kalua Pig, rice, Mac salad, and serving it with Hawaiian King dinner rolls or buns.1 point

Painted my front bumper. I had previously plasti-dipped my front bumper in red. It got a ding on the very front from when I didn't back into the garage far enough and the garage door dinged it knocking off the plasti-dip. While planning to fix that issue I decided I wanted to try to paint over the plasti-dip to try to color match the paint. It's not perfect but much closer. Its a little too matte to finish. I put on two coats of the Dupli-color clear over the top of the Victory Red. Not sure if I need to add more clear or a better clear or what. I am happy with it now but I was panicking a little yesterday. I put on 3 cans worth of the touch up paint but each time I finished with a coat the red would get cloudy white looking almost like it would have if I sanded it. It has been rainy and humid all last week and apparently the white was due to the humidity. I put on the clear on it still looked cloudy. After a little Google/Youtube research I found that the cloudiness was most likely due to the humidity and could be solved with my heat gun. Half an hour later I was much happier. I am going to try polishing it next week to see if I can get more gloss out of the clear.1 point

So, I've been debating whether I wanted to do the rear bumper step light mod or not. I don't need the additional light for backing up, (I have 2" RC Pods for that purpose) but thought it might be nice for illuminating the step should I need to get into the bed at night. I ended up going ahead and installing 3/4" LED white pods that I tied into the reverse circuit. I did the cargo light / reverse light diode mod a while back, so whenever the cargo lights or reverse lights are on, the step lights will come on. Also added 3/4" LED red outer marker lights and tied them into parking lights.1 point

Couldn’t agree more. If I knew something about this and felt for whatever reason I couldn’t tell others how to avoid this situation I would feel like a real POS just antagonizing everyone who has posted on here that has had to deal with this... guess that’s just me?1 point

It might not be a permanent solution or the issue but my back window won't be blowing out in the interim...Cryptic messages are no solution either but there are no shortage of them on this thread...1 point

Many people didn't like how hard the K2 seats were. I suspect they put softer foam in the new trucks and it may be giving more and now you feel the internal parts as it compresses. Just a theory1 point
