  1. Got a OEM overstock new painted bumper and take off chrome grille last week. Today, got my new HC wheels mounted up on some 285/65r20 BFG’s. SUPER happy with how it came out. I’m finally getting close to the vision I had back when I bought my truck, of a “non-blacked out“ trail boss. Call me crazy, but I’m not a fan of all the black. No hate, just a preference for me personally. I really like how it’s turning out though!

  2. No sir, I did not say nor imply "wrong" or "has no taste" or "fake". Please don't try and turn my post into a negative thing when it wasn't in the least bit to begin with. Have a better day.

  3. Thrilled to now own this beauty. No immediate big plans, just happy to have a new vehicle, as my 20 year old jeep has had enough.

  6. I'm happy with the truck to be honest and it's not even a fully loaded RST. Seems to me that everyone rants that they don't like this and that. It happens in every vehicle. Haven't had a car that I can say is 100% free of issues. My 2018 Escalade Platnium had problems out the lot including a seized caliper and AC blower taking a crap. My 2019 Rover has an engine knock at 4k miles. In my 8 personal cars and the 25 cars in my business fleet. They all have something wrong or just feels cheap. You can drive your dream car and still find something you don't like about it. Trust me!

  17. Coming from leveling to lifting same truck, I’d recommend buying the Bilstein front adjustable shocks, the spacers “WILL” give your truck a much rougher ride especially adding larger size tires too. Just food for thought. Sent from Above

  20. I'm coming from a 2010 6.2L and I will say that I do not miss the gas motor. Passing power is great and much more instant which I think is a combination of the diesel tourqe an the 10 speed. I can try and get a video later today. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

  21. Definitely gonna order some diodes. I'm also curious about the wire jumper for the cargo light switch back-up camera. Just a little concerned about any potential quirks. I have an aftermarket 3rd brake light so it has bright LEDs for the cargo light. Will definitely help with being able to see through my tinted windows backing up at night. I replaced my Sylvania led back up lights with some 1000+ lumen ones from Amazon and it's definitely an improvement, but more is better. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk

  24. Just had my GM Trailer TPMS installed in my 40ft 5th wheel. Worked like a charm using the air down method. It never honked the truck horn, but it did place a check mark on the screen next to the tire being aired down and then moved to the next. I used GM Part number 84152501 for my setup. It's not the 2020 specific part number, but worked just fine.

  25. .02 Unfortunately greater sales numbers do not always translate to greater quality, durability, experience or intelligence of choice. I know Chryslers first hand, I went through 20 years of them before going back to Chevys. In mid 70s when the other "big 3" were switching to front drive designing new 4 and V6 FWD transverse engines , Chrysler started using imported French engines and drivetrains....almost forgot the Mitsubishi interference engines which shredded cambelts at 60K miles and scrapped the cars. Chrysler stuck without updated engines and drivetrains for their heavy RWDs went back to their old fallback of reworking out of date technology engines like when they took their great 50s young design slant 6 and iron V8s into the 80s era RWDs where their grandpa lead sleds choked on all the emissions mods. Once again out of money and out of ideas they sucked their last breath in the '90s when Daimler used them stripping their electronic technology out of them and then forcing use of their engines and drivetrains only to be used and soon dumped like cheap whore. Now we get to today when they are owned by Italian Fiat, the first choice of European bottomfeeders, an honor once held by the Yugoslavian Yugo. The only good point of Chrysler engines is they are more durable than the bodies and the bodies are total crap. Time will show how great that fantastic looking interior remains fantastic looking. Instead of dying in color, cheapo solution used on mine was to manufacture in gray and spray paint a colored finish. Evidently gray was the base color of the leather dust and polymer mix they use on the molded "leather" seats. I rubbed their gold door panels too hard when cleaning and that was the color that bled through. Their white and gold leather seats absorbed the dye from blue jeans which could not be removed by cleaning and turned grey if rubbed too hard, leaving a choice of white and blue or white, blue and grey. Only positive I can say is that most are a good looking so I prefer to look at others driving them. Once the sales continue to drop on that Volkswagen beetle wannabee Fiat is trying to hawk in the USA out of Chrysler showrooms it is arrivederci once again and likely they'll be begging for a Chinese takeover.

  26. Excellent post!!! Well stated. I started this thread after freezing my nuts off sleeping at a job site. I laid down and it was nice and toasty only to be wake with icicles hanging off my nostrils and the engine stopped. My first reaction was WTF!?!? Too many people don't realize there are MEN working jobs that run 24/7/365 like oil and gas drilling rigs. We never shut down. I will proudly mention I've never been inside a Starbucks and have never imbibed in any of their product(s) or spent a single penny with that despicable company. I know, I digress...

  29. Update: My friend/mechanic replaced the ground wire cable on right side of engine on front of the head. It goes to wiring harness on engine that goes to the computer box under the hood. Drove over 60 miles no issues. All codes have cleared. I will continue driving if this is not the fix, I will post again. Fixed with $39 ground cable with crimped ends at both ends. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING BUT GM PRODUCT. Save yourself time and headache. PS Just because a wire connector looks good double check. If any connector wires are loose do not recrimp but replace.

  38. I had them in my 2010 no rust issues. Cousin of mine had a similar truck with no fender liners and was a year newer and his rear wheel wells had a bunch of rust. Ryan B.
    1 point
  39. Yep. Right now I'm concerned with the wheel area. I also spray the undercarriage, but I go back to the pockets of salt water that are trapped between the liner and well. Without taking the liners off each washing, that will always reside there (and I'll hear it munching away at my steel while I lay in bed at night). Like Kickass noted, it doesn't seem specific to any one area. Not sure about the other states, but my area of PA now immediately sprays down a layer of liquid brine solution, at the slightest hint of a snow flake. So basically, we are driving on white roads December thu to the begining of March.

  45. I currently have about 6,500 miles on my '18 6.2L. The transmission flush was done on mine at 1,564 miles. Since then I have not experienced any shuddering. However, my truck still shifted like crap and clunked all over the place. When I traded in my previous Silverado for this one, I was running a Range AFM Disabler. I put in in the new truck from day one, but I felt like it made the truck shift terribly. After about 5 days of using it I took it out. Then came all the shuddering issues. After that was taken care of, I never put the Range unit back in for fear it would make it shift bad again. But after about 4,500 miles I couldn't take it any more. My truck clunked and banged on downshift ALL THE TIME! I opened up a case with GM Customer Care and complained to them about the issues I was having. The dealership said there was nothing they could do to fix it, and I pretty much believed them. It's inherent in the transmission. After getting nowhere with the dealership or GM Customer Care I said screw it and tried the Range unit again. Holy crap...what a difference! I mean a night and day difference. 95% of the clunking is gone. The lurch I would feel just as the truck was coming to a stop is gone. It drives so much more smooth. It really is a drastic improvement. GM is killing the driveability of these trucks with the stupid AFM. In constant V8 mode I barely lose 1mpg. Who the hell cares about 1mpg if the truck drives like it should? If you are like me and are completely fed up with your truck, try one of these Range units or have AFM tuned out of your truck. You will not be disappointed. I actually love driving my truck now, and I was almost ready to lose my shirt on a trade in for a 2019 Ram.
    1 point
  46. But but AFM is the worst thing ever and everyone will have failed lifters by 50k miles and you will not save any gas in V4 mode because range is the best thing ever even if there are some driving characteristic changes and your battery dies it is worth it! Tyler
