Dropped the GM cold air intake into my RST this morning. Didn’t even take an hour. ?? I debated between the GM CAI or the Rotofab. I went with the GM for its native design, and am happy I did. The install was super easy. About to leave for the dealer to have my catback exhaust installed! Can’t wait to hear the total difference in a few hours. ???4 points

Nice looking truck. I have the LoMax Access tri fold. Put it on about 6wks ago when I got the truck. Good fit and finish. Tailgate works without interference. Fairly easy install with no drilling required. Took a 700 mile round trip last week and had some rain along the way. Bed was completely dry. $883 at autoanything.com.2 points

I have the 8 speed. To do this mod I used the 6 speed YouTube videos for reference. The thermostat housing looks identical to the 6 speed, and its in the same spot on the tranny. Pretty sure it’s the same part.1 point

Would you be able to find one that could equal or outflow the stock fan clutch though? Them suckers can push some air like no bodies business. Then you run into an issue with controlling it and making the computer happy.1 point

Has anyone found a quality electric fan kit for the 6.0 gas engines for years that include 2017 HD trucks? I would expect removing the traditional fan would help MPG but I cannot find a good fan kit. Sent from the demons in my head1 point

My OEM is 275/60/20 but for my winter tires im going to drop it to a 17 inch rim. 245 is no longer listed as a standard size for the new 2020s so that why i was asking. If i can avoid spending on new tires and just buy the rims it would help.1 point

I have that and my high country. Great price and lifetime warranty is perfect. I also live 40 miles away from Yankton, SD where they are made at.1 point

Git' er dun! My little laundry sink replacement turned out to be a two day job! I took advantage of the fact that I'm in no hurry and made it look like the plumbing and installation were original to the house. I even filled and painted marks left by the previous sink even though they would be hidden by the new cabinet! (I know...) The new sink required the drain line to be moved. I got cocky and eye-balled as I glued the fittings for the new drain. The trouble is, once abs is all glued together, a misaligned elbow throws the rest of your connections off! Out came the saw and I got to do it again! This time after dry fitting all of the pieces to the sink, I marked all of joints of the critical fittings with liquid white-out. It worked like a charm and the gluing was accurate. Now to remove the white-out!1 point

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I’m between the MX4 and the Lomax. It appears as if the Lomax is easily removed if I needed to, and I’m not sure I even like the way the MX4 stores in the up position if I needed to use the entire bed. it’s not much difference in price between the two, but I like to buy once cry once. It was really easy to pick out the truck I wanted, not so easy to pick out the bed cover. Lol1 point

Talk about spin! Nobody is expecting perfection, maybe just a little consistency here. Or I dunno, maybe an apology? Instead of “THEY SET ME UP”! Heard five year olds use that one, right?1 point

Gotcha. I don’t pull a ton. The max I pull is 6k lbs with my ski boat. I use truck mostly as our family hauler and lake house get away vehicle. I love the truck because it is quick, rides nice, tons of room and it was $20k less than a high country Tahoe or Denali Yukon1 point

I like the low profile soft roll up covers best for all around use. Most waterproof and secure cover you can get is a Undercover SE hardtop cover IMO. I liked it for looks and durability, but you were limited in what you can haul in the bed unless you removed the whole cover and left it sitting at the house, but it is painted to match the exact color of truck with a price around 2k. Tri-folds and hard roll ups are okay, but they do not give you full bed access either, and the good ones are pretty expensive, around 800-1k. Didn't care for the ones I had of them either. So I've now owned 3 different soft roll ups, and love them. They do leak a little, but the middle of the bed stays really dry, just leaks a little at tailgate and very front of bed. Best part is can use whole bed at any time with ease, and cost is in the $250 range. The last one I bought was from AutoAnything. It is their house brand, which I like better than the brand name covers I've owned before just like it that I paid more for. Yeah, and of course the mob is following along. Making threats, leaving bad reviews. Kids that hate old, white rich people doing the dirty work of a 116 year old white millionaire. Go figure. You can almost guarantee this hair stylist from San Fran is a liberal. Unfortunately she’s learning a hard lesson about how her people really operate. Once you get fed up with their hypocrisy and stand up for something, you are done.1 point

How could she possibly be set up? What, did they chloroform her, drag her into the salon, pull her mask off and give her a hairdo?!? No matter what, she was breaking rules she herself has been forcing down everyone else’s throats. She knew it and didn’t care, just like all the rest of ‘em. I think like 25% of the posts in this thread are stories of hypocritical Democrats, why be surprised when she’s another...1 point

Correct, it is an excellent on-demand type of info tool, but at the same time i'm not sure its an either/or thing, but this is definitely a good tool to help you balance the load and know your tongue weight. and if you're not towing heavy enough to need a WDH this helps with that. It will also tell you if balancing what you are towing is just str8 up too heavy for your truck to handle w/o a WDH. e.g. I use this hitch to tow my utility trailer when i pick up any construction materials or carry my ATV (i'm too old to drive it up into the truck bed, and it doesn't fit in this truck anyways). my ATV is only 830-ish lbs so it doesn't even register on the scale, but the 8" drop is low enough that the trailer rides pretty level. I ALSO use this hitch when i borrow my friend's 5000lb capacity hydraulic Dump trailer to pick up sand/gravel etc. for that rig i need the 2-5/16 ball it comes with and only a 2" drop. but it helped me know when to push gravel to the front or the back of the trailer, AND most importantly when to just take a bucket back out of the trailer cuz i was over weight. my on the road while towing control etc comes from my Roadmaster Active Suspension that i installed, which prevents pogo-ing, axle-wrap, sag and body roll. Add to that that i don't think i'll ever tow something big/tall/long enough to need a WDH so i'm set up the way i need to be. but for serious big stuff towing i would def consider a WDH. That is just me, i'm an engineer so i tend to go a little overboard with stuff on the safety side, but again WDH's as i understand them are above my level of towing, but i think their application when they are needed is not really circumventable. #iinventedthatword1 point

You don’t need to completely remove the pan to get the filter out. I did it by sliding it all the way to the passenger side which leaves enough room for the filter to come out. Sprayed and wiped out pan clean too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

May be a dumb question... but... These transmissions were designed to run at 190-220ish degrees. The tolerances open up when it heats up and allows the fluid to lubricate everything. If it is colder the tolerances are tighter and would create premature wear. Right? Similar to getting an engine warm so you don't cold seize it. I am no transmission expert. Right now I am debating changing my own fluid and filter. I have warched the YouTube vids with the Y pipe in the way (sigh). Almost at 45k miles. I drove up mount Washington a few weeks ago and got the trans up to 230. I was a little nervous lol. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk1 point

On my small utility trailer that I share with my brother I opened up the 7 pin connector and spliced in a short 4 pin pigtail. You need to keep the unused connector covered when the other one is plugged in... As you can see from the picture he broke the 7 pin the last time he used the trailer and I will need to put a new one on. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro1 point

More pieces to the puzzle arrived! Woohoo! I’ve slowly been chipping away at my custom air compressor install, re made my own harnesses, completely took apart the supplied harnesses, its been a fun project. One of my last steps is to install the air lines, I still need to buy a short and long stainless steel air line but I needed my air bags to arrive first so I could mount them up and know exactly how long I needed. Air Lift 5000 ultimate bags arrived tonight and I partially assembled them, if it’s not raining tomorrow I’ll throw them in the truck. Never had air bags before, or an onboard air compressor, super stoked!1 point

Every GMC I looked at sold faster than you could blink an eye, or had something I didn’t like. As stated in other posts, it sucks chevy still doesn’t offer led headlights on all models, but i’m already watching for a set to swap out on it. I couldn’t justify that big of a price increase to a LTZ solely for headlights [emoji1787]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Pull the fuse? Radio on is the default. Seems like keeping the radio volume at 0 would be ideal so that you maintain functionality of the other features in the touch display, like the phone. The truck won't forget the volume setting between shutdown and startup. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J727A using Tapatalk1 point
