Went out to check the floor of the cab since a hard rain just went through the area. No water anywhere. It seems like sealing the rear window with silicone has stopped the leak for now.

Lol..... Brand loyalty... so retarded. All good though. I have like 6 trucks to choose from and only one isn't a GM lol... I really don't care. My "toy" costs nothing in maintenance and sees a lot rougher life than most of these supposed real trucks would ever be able to handle.

I don't think I've done mine since October '09 ... :D

Really wish they had those inner fender protectors when I first bought the truck. Would've saved alot of rust damage and chips, I think. Too late now. Been keeping after it with used motor oil & Fluid Film though.

My company ones generally... which are decalled. I should peel the 2015 Chevy's decals off... I ran it at Castrol and blacked out my rear side windows with construction paper... thought it best not to drag race with the decals in plain view lol. Headache rack and cell booster antenna and managed a 14.28 @ 98 mostly stock at our altitude... not bad. If i shifted it higher and cooled it down some more it would crack 13's. Otherwise the flavour of the day when I don't work... some newer some older. When I got home today I went on an adventure in my rust buck 86 Blazer lol.. never drove that old junk that far before. Circled from home to the southern edge of Frog Lake, to Elk point and then back up 41 to 28 and into Bonnyville. It was kind of fun... I need to drive it more lol.

Ever tried 3M Professional grade rubberized undercoating? I sprayed some on a few raw looking underbody spots. Might do the entire underbody someday on the Camaro. Dries fast and is similar to a thin spray on bedliner.

I'd be interested to see someone spray an area on their truck in the NE to see how it does over a winter. Stuff seems like it would last years, reminds me of the stuff they used to spray on BMW's.

Short 200 mile round trip to go fishing last minute last night instead of today. My buddy told me to just bring my poles, meanwhile all his stuff is locked in his storage unit that closed for the night. So us two and 2 of his friends jumped in my truck for a nice drive to the coast. Spent probably close to 2 hours trying to cast net for bait. Then because we had very few weights we couldn't weigh our rigs down against the tide. Stopped at steak N shake on the way home and buddy finds the extra weights we were looking for in his back pockets... At least we caught a couple fish and we all had a good time.

On the bright side I cracked 15.1 mpg according to the DIC. Not to shabby seeing as how the truck either had 1000+ lbs of wheel weights in the bed, 4 people, or city driving on this tank.

I haven't used it personally, but I've seen similar products years down the road after many winter salt-baths. It seems to form rust underneath, which then blisters and lifts the product off the chassis. Could have been bad prep .. or an inferior product - who knows .

Zeibart around here does professional coatings like that - I had them do a Rhino Liner in my truck when it was brand new. It's still holding up great. It's taken a flying 500 lb. coal stove without so much as a scratch (bashed my bed in, in 2 places). It's hardening up with time, but they laid it on thick - at least 1/8" all the way around. No signs of peeling or blistering at all so far.

Doing that on the undercarriage of our trucks wouldn't work, I don't think, due to that factory waxy black coating. That would all have to be stripped off & cleaned in order to put a better coating on. Lots of labor, lots of $$$.

I rubberized undercoated the wheel wells in my 2000. Held up well over the winters. Truck is still on the road, seen it a few wks ago

I used it on all my old rides in the past, the last one was a 64 el Camino. I had it a while and it lasted the whole time. That's in Texas with high humidity.

That's a good pass at Castrol for sure - makes me want to try mine out once I get the exhaust and intake done + tune. What is the setup on the truck you ran the low 14 with?

My last truck was a 650hp Forged 408 and supercharged all built by Davenport - 2003 Silverado SS AWD. Built 4L80E and built front diff. I didn't run it, but the previous owner ran 12.1 @113 with heavy 22's. I was sure it could crack an 11 with lighter wheels.

Iam going to be spraying my rear fenders on my truck very soon. They are chipping and peeling need to do something to make the truck last.
