Vent it to the atmosphere like they did for 100 years prior ... and like every single piece of lawn equipment in North America is.

Problem solved.

You seem to have all the answers for everything.

Ok Mark - so you have an EVAP system on your lawn mower? Motorcycle? Nothing will run without EVAP??? IS THIS what your telling me???

Can't say the mower has one. That said, I spent 30yrs in the Asbestos Workers Union. I'm sure you've heard about how bad asbestos can be to your health. I'll assume you haven't been affected by it so you probably don't believe any of it. For certain people, it's real bad including deadly. I was lucky to come in after most all use had been stopped, but still had a lot of exposure. At 58 my lungs are still ok. I can count about 15 people I worked with that are dead from thier job, which always included contaminated air.

At least 7 of those years were spent working coal fired powerhouses, oil refineries, chemical plants and steel mills. I've breathed all the bad air I want. Only about 20% of my work was I able to breathe what could be called normal air. I can remember the news pictures of the brown haze hanging over LA. The same thing the Chinese have today.

Our vacations over nearly 40 years have been mostly road trips camping as we go. It sure is nice to see the valley from the mountains and vice-versa.

I will apolligize for the long post and probably my spelling and say it's time to move on here. Lets get back to trucks.

I was talking about cars & trucks. Don't know how asbestos & chemicals factor into a ridiculous system that does absolutely nothing for air quality. Why does everyone change the subject when this comes up for discussion???

Half the emission systems we don't need. In 1970 there was a brown cloud over Phoenix .... and in 2000, that brown cloud was still there. Emission systems didn't do crap. Plus I was able to breathe better there than at any point in my life in MA.

My point was, nobody falls dead from gas fumes. My grandfather breathed them every day of his life, never wore gloves & was covered in grease up to his elbows for 7 decades. He died at 86 of cancer - the tumor was on his NECK. My father did the same the first half of his life ... then spent the next half in a dungeon of an abrasive factory .. and he smoked 4 packs a day up until a few years ago. He's 71 & gets around just fine still. I have asthma and I've worked in plastic factories breathing all kinds of crap, did industrial roofing for 4 years - torch-down Brai modified bitumen systems - which is basically like breathing diesel fumes all day long, and years later I ran a recycling route for a major metropolitan area, where the truck's exhaust was pointed at the ground .. so all the fumes came up in my face for 12 - 14 hours a day. Every day after work I turned wrenches on the side, with the exception of 2 years where I worked full time at a motorcycle dealership.

Last I checked, I'm still alive. Don't believe the media hype about the world ending. Like I said before, I'll be the first to die with my lung issues! I'm the canary in the coal mine. That's about all I can say. If you want to gear up in a hazmat suit whenever you fill up your mower, be my guest. :ninja: I'm gone ...

Its my understanding that the fumes are recaptured to be burned in your engine and not lost in the air. So I agree the fumes are not going to necessarily gping to kill you but it is wasted fuel that is just being vented vs recaptured and burned. Just a thought. After gas is NEVER going to be cheap so why let it float away.
