The 9 loves boost though. There are guys running 20 lbs on a stock block and pistons. There is a lot of support for LS motors

Look at my 04's signature....... nothing is stock in that engine lol. You can build whatever you want with an LS.

Personally if you are straight boosting it I wouldn't pay a premium to buy an LQ9...... just get an LQ4 from 05 and newer and go nuts. Cheaper and will do anything you ever want to do until it implodes....... at some ungodly level of power.

I just went forged to try and prevent picking up the pieces in a quicker time frame.

Just to reiterate. The only difference between an LQ4 and a LQ9 is the piston itself. Heads, cam, intake, injectors and anything else is identical.

I think I would definitely enjoy 50+ more hp. But it's already easy to roast em with this engine. Most people with trucks and some cars don't realize how easy it is for my basically stock 5.3 to smoke them (on a track). And whenever people ride with me they comment on how nice it drives. Although lately everyone has been bugging me to get "pipes". Sheesh college kids.

My Maggy is the same way, after 4k you don't hear it in the cab though, just engine and intake noise. I've been told you can really hear it behind the truck though.

All in all I'm very happy with my truck and there isn't much I want to change.

Reviving this old thread because I want to and to say my gas cap cover is starting to rust from the inside out! Winters are harsh!

What's winter?
