I had the same issue with the trans in my 2010, it stared at about 10,000 miles and when I talked to the dealer near me they asked if there was a cel on, there wasn't. They told me theres is nothing they can do if there is no cel. Then at 41,000 miles the truck broke down cause of the tsb for the throttle position sensor, called the dealer again and explained what happened and that I got a letter from gm about it. Same thing as the trans no light no way they could do the job, there not mechanics anymore, there parts changers that read a computer screen. Hence the reason I got rid of it. Good luck with the trans issue.

Cool. That's great news!!

What did your copy of the repair order show?? A new "warranty" cover & cushion??

Sorry for the long wait for a reply, I've been sick for the past while.

I took a look at the repair order, and all it shows is the seat cushion being replaced. Since the leather was already replaced and not so long ago I hope it won’t be a problem. Ideally I would have preferred if the entire seat was replaced, but that would probably be going too far!

Glad to hear that you concern has been resolved rob1231. Let me know if you need anything in the future.

Yup, works out very nicely!

If your transmission has not left the truck inoperable or visibly leaking, your magical attorney will only take your money.

Find a different dealer to work with.

Not saying you should not be irritated with it. But getting a attorney involved will not cure near as much as finding the right dealer or speaking with GM customer service above.

I can tell you EXACTLY how to duplicate the transmission problem. I also have a 2012 sierra, 5.3 6speed. When the tranny is cold, accelerate at a pretty good rate, at least 1/2 throttle but it will do it with the pedal floored. The first shift, and only the first shift from 2nd to thirs, you will feel this slip. it will not happen again until the tranny completely cools. Now you cant go drive through the neighborhood for a block or two then get on the main road to try. Ya gotta do it first thing. My dealership finally pulled out, spinning tires, and was able to duplicate it. And while they had my truck the 2013 loaner was doing the same thing. GM had them take 5 trucks off the lot and 3 did the same thing. They tell me it isn't a slip, it's a "flare"?? Basically a long shift. IDK.. they completely pulled my transmission, said they even froze it for pressure tests, and replaced some seals.. i dont understand transmissions so they colud tell me anything and i wouldnt know the difference. Good thing is now i have it documented. the truck only had 6k on it when i brought it in for that problem.

do your headlights flicker when the a/c compresser cuts on or off?

The driver seat in my '13 looks like that already. 10,000 km.. Ive said it before and i'll say it again... Cheap

I remember in my GMT-800 there was a little pulse in the pedal right before the very first shift of the truck's use (i.e. when the truck was turned on, the first shift after that). Do you think this is something similar? One of these systems check operations? I remember a TSB for the 800's that detailed that.

I don't feel a pulse in the pedal. I can actually see the rpm's jump during the "flare". Its not a slip, more like a delay in engaging 3rd gear.

Those leather covers don't just slip on. They use hog rings on a couple of seams near the middle to attach to the seat. Maybe they just slipped them on.
