Per your request. I get a slight rub on the inside of the wheel well on the side by the driver's door. Only enough to rub the paint off of the inside edge of the fender flare.

What's the story on their bumper? I've tried until blue in the face to contact SCA and no luck. I love that bumper look but I want to fit it with a light bar and a 10-12k winch with synthetic rope. and chance for some pictures of the winch mounting location and some measurements?

Have you tried contacting SCA through Facebook? Everything they post on Twitter links you to

Facebook and I don't use Facebook. SCA has never responded to my emails or tweets.

My truck was purchased with the bumper and lights, just as you see it, from the GMC dealer. I haven't had to contact SCA Performance. I did see on their website that the newer bumper does have a winch mount and the Rigid light bar has a grill built into the bumper for additional light bar protection.

Just installed BDS 6" with fox rear shocks and leaf springs instead of blocks.

Tires are Mickey Thompson 35x12.5x20

Wheels are Fuel Hostage 20x10 -12 offset

Hypertech Max Energy programmer.

No rubbing

Also had exhaust put on. True dual.

The front does stick out more than the back. I believe the lift pushed out the track about 1.5 inches. I did have a Rancho 2.5" leveling kit. It rode horribly. The BDS rides much nicer.

Love the look of the turned down exhaust...did you have this done custom or find a cat-back to that offers this?

The exhaust is totally custom cat back from Kinneys Exhaust in Ft Worth. It is true dual from the manifold back. I got a custom flowmaster muffler which is custom made for that shop. I highly recommend them. The sound is awesome and both outlets are perfectly aligned. I can post some pics of it later tonight.

I'm in the Seattle area, so I won't make it to Kinney's, but I appreciate the info. It looks awesome. The photos would be great if you can post them. Thanks!!!

Got a set of wheels ordered 20x9 fuel couplers, currently only running a 2.25" level in the front. Been digging through this thread a while just curious the max tire size i could squeeze without any rubbing issues i want to avoid any trimming!

Here you go. Let me know if there are any other angles or something else you would like to see.

The hanger was welded on twice is why you see that one break on it.

Looks like a good setup. What (round about) did you put into it. I'm a few hundred miles from them.

just finished my 2015 RC 2" leveling kit.

Didnt go like the instructions.

Hammering the steering linkage knuckle, nor upper ball joint knuckle would release the parts.

Prying, and hammering on the parts a no-go. Even putting WD40 and waiting 20 min. - nope.

You can remove the lower shock bolts (15mm) and use a prybar to get enough gap to slip in the spacer, but one of the new bolts wont fit under the half shaft unless you drop the suspension. You could put the bolt in the bottom and the nut on top, but it leaves very little space between it and the half shaft. The bolt head is much shorter. I elected to drop the suspension to get the bolt in from the top.

Plan B was to undo the two bolts holding the lower control arm to the frame (18mm bolt head, 24mm nut). Bolts slid out easy. Had to undo the 2 bolts holding the sway bar clamp (10mm) to get the back lower control arm bolt out. Also still have to undo the sway bar link (15mm).

After that, tie wrap the spacer to the shock, drop the bolts in (new bolts are 17mm), then grab the lower control arm and lift it while aligning the lower shock bolts.

First side I had to use a clamp to squeeze the sway bar down enough to get the link nut back on.

Took an hour side 1, 20 min side 2. Beer break in between.

Looks great - perfect stance.

Looking to kind of switch things around or also doing a Plan B lol, whats the lowest lift i could do and fit 35x12.5x stock 20s in an AT? Also willing to take off the lower valence

My brother called SCA on the phone, go figure, & they gave him contact info for a rep in Texas, which is where we live. You might try that...

35s will fit on the BDS 4"... . I started where you are at now but trying to do 4" with 33s and stock 20" wheels. Ended up doing the 6" with 35s and stock 20" wheels. Install is Monday, it was delayed a week because I ordered the AMP steps this week.If you go to BDS' website, you will see their 4" fits 35" x 12.50" with 20x9. Stock 20" wheels are 20x9.

There might be other kits out there that have a similar setup. I just know this one as I was back and forth between this and the 6". I went with the 6" because I did not want to feel like I did not go big enough for the almost no difference in price. The shop I am going to said it is easy to convert from 4" to 6" and the quote wasn't too bad on labor to do it...

    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
