I found it on page one. Block8head did the retrofit with FX-R projectors. Looks pretty easy. No opening of the housing at all. Just all thru the back cap.

No. You can use the Morimoto ballast and harness. The bulbs will have to change to whatever the projector bulb size is. Often, that's the D2S bulb size. You'll also need the ballast to bulb harness. That part is pretty reasonable.

Thanks chief. What is your opinion on the Phillips DS2 bulbs? Which bulb would you recommend to go with since I'm doing this conversion?

Sick setup! Osram it looks like are the bad boys! Will my ballast power those bulbs when I get the ballast to bulb relay/harness?

Yea it will be fine. You'll need the AMP-D2S pigtail however.

I am making the plates for the Sierra. I don't know if the Silverado projector has the same pattern or not. Maybe. Someone has already removed their projectors from a Silverado. Some straight on pics would help.

Check my pictures. I have the factory projectors still out so I can take pictures of that from any angle if it helps. I'd like to see the back cover on the GMC to see if it's anything like the Chevy. I'm working on a cover for the rear of the Chevy that will allow us to put the extended cover right over the new projector with room for grommets to make it a more professional install. I'm going to do some measurements today, so we can draw it up and make the prototype in January.

There are some pix on page 1 of this thread from Block8head.

 

Here's a pic of the Sierra projector (bottom black projector). Much different design and bolt pattern. It is a completely different projector, as it has a shutter for the high beam. But you can see the construction would lead you to believe it was from a different supplier as well. Disregard the projector on top, as it's a Lexus RX-350.
