Anyone having cutoff issues with the beam itself? After I installed the projectors, it's like the beam is slightly offset in the housing. Maybe a side to side issue.

If you have plug and play hids now and aren't impressed go with a full on retrofit such as the fxr

I first put in the 4300k morimoto elite kit and although it was an upgrade over stock, I did the retrofit a year later. Wished I had done it right off the bat.

I would recommend morimoto, have had their kits in my past few trucks and everything has held up good for the most part and any issues have been replaced hassle free

did you put a bi-xenon projector kit in or what projectors would you recommend?

I would recommended the fxr projectors. They are bi-xenon. I used the 2.5" projectors cause I had a set lying around but 3" is a better fit for the Sierra and probably Silverado

Fast headlights has a bracket to mount the fxrs easily too

The fxr is the bigger badder one vs the stock projector in the pic

ok cool. would i be better off getting just the adapter plate from fast headlights and getting the rest from TRS or getting the full retrofit kit from fast headlights?

ok this may be a dumb question, but when retroing a silverado, will you lose function of the factory high beam?

yes you lose factory highs, but you gain the highs back with the fxr kit. They have butterfly that switches between each other

Think fast has a package deal with fxr kit and bracket. Thought maybe there was a group buy going on here too, but check in with him and he can let you know

No you don't. Silverados have separate high beam bulbs.

ok that is why i was asking, i wasn't sure since it had a seperate light for the high beam if it would affect it. thanks!

I'm sorry, you are correct. You still have them. Hooking them up is your choice. I prefer to use the projectors with the hids as they are already warm.

If you retrofit a bixenon projector, you can add high beam splitters. Just an adaptor that will let the projector go into the high beam and have your actual high beams on at the same time.

Learn something new everyday. I had a Mr taillight kit on my Colorado that would maintain highs, lows, and fogs. Never took the time to hook up the old high beams. For one, different colors, but was sure just some new wiring would do it. I was just happy enough with the retrofit in general

Check out the 4hi and 6hi mods for these trucks. Allows the high beams to stay on with lows. I added a resistor that allows my cargo lights to come on with reverse lights for extra lighting, and my bed lights I added come on also at night. Walk out of store at night, hit unlock on my fob and my whole bed and cargo LED's come on.

That is incorrect. Sikverados use a compelty different bulb for the high beam so you don't lose your high beam function. The shutter is found on the Sierras, not Silverados.

Thanks but we have already clarified this. You dont actually lose the high beams. The bulbs are still there. Me personally didnt hook the stock high beams up when I did a FXR retrofit. The FXR kit DOES have a shutter, and since my hids are already warmed up ready to go, I hooked up my high beams from there. You still can use your high beams but I just left them disconnected.

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
