Don't do 4" of level. Had that in my old truck.. Just no.

Ok. Thanks Grey. But what about a 4in Suspension? I like the looks of the Fabtech one. If you visit there website, It'd be the one up from the basic system with the uca's. I know little about lifts, so would appreciate your input.

the only "suspension" lift fabtech has for our trucks is the 6" The 4" is still only a big leveling kit. Unless you have to cut the crossmember for a subframe kit, its just a big level. The only true 4" suspension lifts are the zone, bds and ranch 4" kits.

There is no difference that I know of, no. The only thing would be if it has aluminum control arms. But I think they all do now, unlike older models.

I think all the z71's/all terrains have the aluminum arms. Which means the spindle and tierod mounts are a little different than the 07-13 (someone corect me if im wrong) but my 4x4 high country has steel (black) arms so i have the same suspension as the 07-13 do. they all use the same leveling kit, just different sub-frame lift kits

Okay well that narrows it down. Mine is an All Terrain, and has the aluminum ones.

If you do a lift kit, just make sure you pick the one for the aluminum suspension. If you do a leveling kit, you can do any of them. Also, if you change the Ucas make sure you specify you have aluminum arms.

What's your tire/wheel set-up?

The tires are Atturo Trail Blade 275/65/18 and the wheels are Strada Off Road Monster Wheels 18x9 with a 0 offset, The tires stick about 1/2" out of the fenders.

Just wondering if I get the RC 2.5 leveling kit, this will be just to level the front even with the back correct?

It's not an actual suspension lift?

Also, if I keep the 18's - I assume I need to go with a 275/70/18?

Thanks in advance.

If you put the block that come with the kit you'll have rake again, but it's not an actual suspension lift.

As for the tires, idk that one lol

RC 2.5 comes with rear blocks, which you can use or not use depending on if you want rake or want it leveled.

As for the tire size could go tall/skinny like a 275/70r18, or a bit shorter and wider like a 285/65r18. Really just depends on the look you want for the truck.

If you go with the front 2.5" level only, it will be completely level or very close.

If you want to see what your truck would look like with a 2.5" front level only and 275/70/18 on those wheels, just look at my gallery as it is exactly what I'm running right now.

SBC, that looks great.

How's the ride?

I see you're from Houston as I am.

The one thing I worried about going too high;

the parking garages in Houston.

Posted

The ride is definitely "firmer". I don't want to say rougher as it still rides quite well, but it's not as forgiving as stock.

I don't think parking garages are an issue with just the level, although I haven't been in one since I put the level on. But I don't think it's any taller than an F-250 4x4 and those seem to fit (barely).

    • From what I gather, you have a 2.7 Diesel  You cannot use Chevron gas in it.  Howes has a diesel add-in and it states it cleans injectors.  Me personally, wouldn't bother with it.  If it's not broke, don't fix it.     Just my two cents worth.
    • Looking up on the web you can the information that would seem obvious. You asked engine components to do more. You get more wear. The answer is they can last just as long but required more maintenance. Apparently having to change lifters, cam and associated components are maintenance or repairs. In some research the normal life span of valve train components are 80-100 miles with 3-5K miles oil change. So the next logical conclusion would be cost per mile. I use that analogy with my wife all the time with vehicles. My Odyssey is approaching 170K. The cost per mile will go up at 200K with maintenance. Looking at a low cost car. A K-4 with a 10-10 warranty. Selling my Ridgeline that’s about to hit the same maintenance milestone. My argument becomes not only I get worry free driving. But at no cost increases. Because I take the money from my Ridgeline and maintenance savings and other potential savings. I’m driving for free. So tying it with a bow. It makes you wonder. Is this a grand conspiracy by the auto makers? Raise the potential maintenance high enough. Buyers by extended warranty to 100K miles. Do the minimum maintenance required. Trade in at the warranty end. How long should they last? That question is what keeps people up at night. The answer is much more complicated than it used to be.
    • Could you cite your source on this?  I cannot find any reference to the US secretly taking the oil.  I find references that the US helped oil tankers move through the Strait of Hormuz, but nothing about what you're stating.
    • Same thought, also the everything doesn't have the details real photos do (talking about the noise in the photo)
    • Since the media YOU and your buddies are programmed to watch failed to mention this, I'll fill you in.   Trump admitted today that we've grabbed 150 MILLION barrels of oil from the Iranian tankers locked in the Strait by our Navy. We turned off their transponders, took them out to sea in the dark of night since they have zero radar capabilities anymore, offloaded every drop onto another vessel, and put them back by morning so no one was the wiser. That oil has been en-route THROUGHOUT the entire conflict.   Main reason he admitted this is to let even guys on our own side who joined leftists in complaining about the prices that he hears us all, and has taken steps to make sure this didn't spiral into a BAD situation ... just like the mainstream media has been PRAYING would happen, just so they could gloat. Amazes me how these people are rooting for the destruction of THEIR OWN HOME, just to make a President they don't agree with or like look bad! That's next level TDS!   I know your not capable of giving our President the benefit of the doubt, again due to your deep programming, but THIS is why oil never hit $150 a barrel as predicted by your programmers, AND the reason oil continues falling. Like I said before, Trump's got a plan, and this is proof of it. By the end of his term, we're going to be in GREAT shape for a change!   Since I just spent $3,000 this week on #2 heating oil and gasoline, the war most certainly is ending! 🤣   https://mxmnews.com/article/ba359ac9-2711-4851-92de-187f2400f2dd?breaking-trump-cancels-iran-strikes-deal-now-approved-by-all-parties
