The Duratracs are sweet.

The rim protection is crazy. The tire has over a quarter inch of reveal protecting the rim which was important to me with the fragile GM chrome plating. I'll try to get a pic of that too...

This is the rim protection I was talking about... It's actually more like a half inch, not just a quarter. Don't mind the dirt wheels... 4373328631311acb499a90e07e6f9cf0.jpg

With a lift and the proper jack stands is the easiest way... It's not difficult by any means but I found out the hard way that the truck needs to be completely level...

I only had my truck half way in the garage and my driveway has a slight angle on it. So the truck was twisted enough to make it a PITA to line the blocks up...

Received these 1.5" lift blocks to replace the 1.25" oem. I know not a huge difference but they were only $26 and i read somewhere the 2" block provided more than the 3/4" expected. So i guess ill see if my logic is right.

Current front height 39 1/4

And rear at 39 5/8.

I was planning on doing one side at a time in my garage and hoping its not that difficult. My plan was to raise one side, unbolt the bottom strut and U bolts and replace block. Guess i have to do some research and watch some youtube videos.

Yeah i like a slight rake. Nothing crazy but the dead level just gives a squatting appearance with these trucks. So i am looking for a bit more rake to avoid the squat look

looking forward to seeing the results, and how much of a pain it is to install the blocks

For those of you that have already installed a leveling kit... Which did you go with and why? Do the new aluminum suspension parts impact the install? I hope to get one on my truck in the next couple weeks but want some insights first.

I went with Rough Country 2.5" Leveling kit, reason is because I read a lot on this forum and seemed like it was the most reliable/popular for these trucks to level it and to allow for larger tires and ground clearance. Rough country had great support when I called about questions on tire sizes. I have the steel front suspension not the aluminum, but they have 2 different kits depending on if you have aluminum or steel control arms.

I've looked at all your pics....I like the way your truck turned out with a level and stockers....I have the same stockers.

Couple of Qs:

- you put your truck in a lot of weird angles. Any rubbing?

- How much clearance do you have? Do you think you could have gone 295/65 or 305/65? Maybe 1" bigger?

No rubbing whatsoever!!! Parked I did full lock to lock and I had an index finger between tire and wheel well liner. I was thinking about going with a 295 but I called rc and they said trimming would be required and also the place I took the truck to to install lift said they wouldn't recommend anything larger than a 285. I'm very happy with the end result and glad I didn't go with a 295. It's The perfect tire size for this truck
