The issue was not with the amount of drop allowed by the control arms. The issue was with the degree of angle the CV axle shaft is at in relation to the 2" spacer on the bottom of the strut. Once the spacer is put in place, there is just not enough clearance between the CV axle shaft and the hole for the new longer bolt to slide in. Thus, the need to disconnect the upper bj to allow just a little more room for the lower shaft the clear.

Ah, that's no problem then. As long as the shock has a bit of wiggle room when in place with the balljoints bolted up you're fine.

I have 305/45R22 with a leveling kit on my 2014 Z71. The 22x9" wheels are the same width, same offset, etc. as the factory 20x9" other than the diameter of course. The tires only rub just a little on the inner fender 'carpet' at full right turn only. Not all factory GMC wheels have all the same specs. I believe the 22" CK164 wheels (and the 22" Cadillac Escalade wheels) are 8 1/2" wide but I don't know the offset. The width and offset will make a difference on if and where the tires might rub.

Hey guys, I've been contemplating what size wheel and tire to put on my 2015 Silverado. I have a RC 2.5 leveling kit but im scared to get a tire and have to trim a lot. I want to put a 20x10 with a -24 offset and either a 305/55r20 or 285/55r20 BF Goodrich Ko2. Can someone give me some advice on which one to go with?

I have 20x9 with +01 with 305/55r20s with a 2 inch level and my truck doesn't rub but if you try to run that set up your going to have to cut a lot. If you added a 1.25 or a 1.5 inch body lift you would be able to run that with almost no rubbing

Looks great! What did you get for measurements? I'm comparing mine to others who put in a below strut level blocks.

What size tires? I have LT275/70R18

39 1/8" front

39 5/8" rear

This was measured in my garage which has a really good slope. When I measured it in the shop at work yesterday seems like I had 3/4" of rake as compared to 1/2" sitting in my garage.

Tires are 275/70/18 BFG KO2's

You have same tires as I do; and Z71.

Here is what I got and my garage is pretty level;

I have only slight rubbing at almost full lock on driver side. I noticed when I was making left onto another road.

What PSI are you running in tires? I called BFG and they told me to put them at 45psi to match what my SR-A's were at.

I use to do about 17mpg for work (surface streets all way in) and it's dropped to 15.1 now. Which I expected with heavy tires.

After tire install

Front driver 39-3/8
Front passenger 39-3/8
Rear driver 39-3/4
Rear passenger 39-3/4

I have been running 40 psi front and rear. No rubbing, no trimming. It looks like I have about a half inch of clearance at full lock on drivers side, even more on passenger side.

How does it feel at 40 psi?

I wasn't sure where to put it -- I asked BFG and they said my regular tires called for 35psi and equivalent was 45psi in theirs.

Feels good. I've had bfg's on all my trucks. I used to run 44 lbs on my 2500hd. If I hook onto a trailer to tow something I increase the pressure in the rear tires.

Bilstein 5100's are in my truck! I think they look awesome and the ride is so much better than stock. With my old shocks, I'd get a jarring feeling when I'd hit a pothole or sharp bump in the road. The 5100's definitely smoothed that feeling out. I really need to get them on the rear now.

I will post pics and measurements when I get a chance.

On stock tires the front measurements were 36-1/4" and 36-5/8" before 5100's.

Does anyone know what offset would match my stock 18" wheel if I was to get aftermarket? I want my wheel to sit just like my stock Z71 wheel does.
