What one option is missing from the new generation trucks?

As an added safety feature, if the wipers are on for

more than thirty seconds, the vehicle’s headlamps will

turn on automatically. They will turn off when the wipers

are turned off.

While I agree with the no headlights statements, passing a law doesn't do jack. It rains in Florida umpteen days a year and idiots are constantly not turning on their lights. Just as bad are the people that put their flashers on while driving. I just want to ram them! Most of my driving is at night and I'm constantly seeing people with no lights on driving around. Passing a law to prevent stupidity is just that, stupid. Oh and we have the lights law in Florida, I've yet to see anyone get pulled over for it, I on the other hand have been pulled over and given a warning for too many lights...

 

Cool the jets folks. Nothing said in my post recommending passing a law. I recommended GM add the lights on when wipers on. Makes as much sense as DRLs in perfect weather. I consider DRLs as marginal in additional safety. Driving in blinding rain with no lights on is a real safety concern. So, DRLs, why not lights on when wipes on?

GM has had wipers coming on with headlamps for nearly 10 years. The DRLs turn off, and the headlamps, taillamps, etc are on until the wiper switch is turned to the "OFF" position.

ok after building a truck online, chevy really needs to add a color match option for the mirrors and door handles, come on you offered it on the 900's you should make it for the new ones.

The sliding rear window should be in the SLE value package. All of the other features like park assist, adjustable pedals, and lane control should be in a "safety" package.

I can't believe that DRL still isn't mandatory in the States. Perhaps it would be considered an infringement of rights or some such nonsense.

 

More like an infringement on common sense.

How in the world does GM have 2 display screens in the dash and nothing indicates when 4WD is engaged? One of the annoying things I noticed when test driving a '14. I mean, totally ridiculous.

Handle on the A-pillar to make it easier to climb in and out of the truck when I get older.

It'll preserve the seat too. (no sliding down the side of the seat with my butt)

I know you didn't, someone else suggested it. I was just stating that here in Florida we have that law and it's useless.

I agree. What we get down here is dense fog. Like you have to use the white line on the shoulder to drive. The DRLs are good for the I do not turn on my lights in poor conditions crowd. The problem in fog is no taillights on with DRLs. Anyway at least one end is lit.

I thought the same thing. Went through the manual and everything looking for it. I guess they figure you will see the light on the knob it self.
