Keyless start/entry. I know its 2 items but I cannot believe GM puts out a new model without some items that are so common.

I'm going to say a HUD display because while rear HVAC vents seem to be a popular choice here I don't really agree.

 

I've rode in the back of my own trucks several times and and didn't really notice that there weren't rear vents. The entire cabin seemed to have the same ambient temperature and none of my rear seat passengers have ever complained about being hotter or colder than the front seat passengers.

I don't get the HUD requests. I had a rental Pontiac Grand Prix GXP a few years ago and after the initial "oh cool a HUD" it was pointless. Especially now with the reconfigurable center display which can act as a digital speedo I just don't see what is so special about it other than usually making windshield replacements obscenely expensive.

 

I can see the whole "oh cool a HUD" aspect, but honestly how hard is it to look down at the dash? I rarely look at the dash for speed since I go by engine noise (+1 for dual exhaust ). I understand the I can't see it b/c of the steering wheel aspect though as another poster mentioned.

 

As far as the steering wheel, I don't know how the new gen are but I like the way my '06 is set up vs dad's 09. They took away the space in the "spokes" where I usually have my hands and the buttons get in my way when I drive his truck. I also hate how "tiny" these steering wheels feel/are.

The thing that gets me about the rear vents is that they were in the gmt800 trucks, but after that nothing. With the cost of these trucks there's no reason why it shouldn't be there. The price goes up, while features disappear.

All these options are nice, but one thing to remember is cost. Everybody now thinks a standard car/truck has not only power windows, locks, ac, but remote start, back up cam, 8 speaker surround sounds, etc etc. But then gripe about cost.

 

 

But what GM missed the boat on is two things.

 

1. They needed a Turbo V6 engine/ diesel option. Think GM is going to find themselves behind.

 

 

2. GM's options and package are prehistoric compared to Dodge and Ford. Those two offer so many trims and options its almost rediculous. GM your stuck with LT or LTZ. ok WT.
