Oil catch can?

Yeah.....it's a very high frequency vibration, almost a hum that was most noticeable between 1500 and 1750 RPMs.

Drove another 40 miles or so tonight and it is just about completely gone. I would put it at 90-95% better. If someone didn't know to look for it I doubt they would notice.

Thought. This the first time it has happened. I wonder if it also goes with this the longest I ran it without draining. I'll empty it and see if it goes away.

I was wondering the opposite....the longer you wait the more fluid builds up and settles the can down. So emptying it would make it worse not better. I don't know I'll keep an eye on mine and see how it changes. Just a thought as well.

I replaced the standard fuel line (50 PSI) with tranny line (175 PSI) and cleaned up the hoses paths... I just want to make something now to stop the hoses from all touching each other at the bend.

What Brand is that catch can?

Mine is mounted all the way out so the frequency would be different for each one. The bracket is like a running fork. But I'll know more later. If we mount the other end solid or at least put a loaf on it with a zip tie it should at least change if not go away. Edited December 31, 2014 by Crf450r420

Saikou Michi. I reached out to him back in September and we started designing a duel can set up specifically for our trucks. That one in the picture is the 1st prototype in my truck right now. Only a few slight tweaks to be made so I am very happy with the product so far. I've only put about 250 miles on it because I was traveling most of December (not in my truck) but after about 1000 miles I will give him my results and do a full write up on here. Hopefully have these babies ready for the market in a month or so.

Drained my catch can today. This represents only about 800 miles over the course of the last 2 weeks. I would guess I got about 8 oz out with most of that being water.

It was raining most of the day and I really wanted to wait another 500 miles to drain. I was thinking bracket, but reality didn't match with my thoughts. So I used some things around the shop and did this instead. I wanted to get it tighter, but I made the hose to short and once the big zip tie locked into this spot it was not going to move again. If need be our when my OCD kicks in, I'll try again. I've only driven 30 miles, but didn't feel even a hint of the vibration.

Also got some pictures of my drain. Wheel was turned so couldn't get the end.

Yep waiting on them to send me the link. The guy is super smart and really really knows his stuff. He even gave me a tour of the shop. Very eye opening the difference in cylinder heads on a DI and port injection motor. Down right scary actually

Hey Guys, Just a thought on the carbon buildup conversation. First question is what causes carbon buildup? I have searched and never did find that oil causes carbon buildup but is the unused fuel during combustion. If that is the case on our DI engines how can carbon buildup on the back on the valves? Not saying it does not. I do agree that oil in the air intake is not good and will be adding a CC. I'm no engine expert so if this is not the case please advise. If anyone has pictures of carbon buildup on our engines please share.
