I'm fairly sure it was around 40/50 when mine kicked in a few times going along the river on the way to Lake City, in the hilly windy roads. I had to kinda ride the brake a few times as the cars in front were slowing down a lot on the hills, and the assist would then kick in and turn on.

Just turn on tow/haul mode, that's what I do, its a more aggressive Assistive Grade Braking (AGB) The deceleration created by down shifting is really strong too, strong enough that you hardly need to use the brakes on those steep grades.

When traveling in Colorado I would sometimes initiate it since its easier to predict than AGB.

Gotta get used to these steep suckers here. I'll try the tow/haul mode today because we're gonna be traveling for sure.

I bet its gonna be real nice on that 8spd. On my 6spd w/3.42 sometimes it would drop to 3rd going 70mph. It sounded sick and really slowed the truck down, but I can imagine that the 8spd with closer gear ratios will be even better.

Just downshift... use your engine to brake rather than your brakes! the higher RPMs literally slow your truck down enough that you don't need to use your brakes at all, unless you need to come to a complete stop.

Tow/haul mode works, but not as good. You will know it's active as a message pops up in the DIC that says "Grade Assist".

Hill descent control is more so for off-roading in very slow speeds.

Yeah the more I drove yesterday I used manual mode and would downshift. My mom got scared thinking I was going to blow my truck up. Lolol

attachicon.gifOff into the wild blue yonder.jpg Here is a picture of my 2015 Chevy Silverado in deep ocean metallic blue paint, with a 6" suspension lift, 3" body lift and 37" tires. She came off the dealer lot like this.

Looks good! I plan to do a 3" BL and 37s after my 35s wear out. Not sure if imma go wider on the tires or stay at 12.5

Can you get us some more pictures? Side shots? And maybe even a wheel well measurement if you don't mind?[emoji106]

And do you know which lift and BL were used?
