I have a lift I have access too, how hard is it to remove the exhaust on your own? I've done it before On my acura but cars are easier. Any tips, I'd like to get it out in one piece just in case

A lift makes.it.easy to.remove.in one piece, but I had a second person. It's a big awkward piece to remove alone.

Just got my truck back from the muffler shop - 2016 6.2L

Deleted the muffler and replaced with a 3in pipe. Resonator and Flapper left in place with flapper clamped open.

First impression - The sound is perfect. I watched numerous videos on here and I will say it (like it's been said on here many times) sounds much better in person.

$50 = no brainer.

Got my tips in for the GM Borla and they are pretty. Sorry about the plastic it is under the clamps and didnt want to take it off yet. No time to install it until next weekend.

the quality is pretty good! i just hate the regular U-Clamps it comes with. and you should be golden with a lift. I did it alone on the ground, and got it out in one piece.

For those of you who have installed LT headers, can you let me know which brand you went with and if you needed o2 Extensions?

I plan to install this Friday (Texas Speed LT Headers), and wanted to confirm if the o2 Extensions are not needed. (as I didn't get any with the headers & y)

Thanks!

Have you asked Texas Speed? Surely they could tell you.

Yes, I sent them an email right before I posted this.

You don't have extensions on your AR headers, right?

I compared the bung hole (lol) location on AR vs TS, and they look pretty similar.

Installed my Borla ATAK today and removed my MBRP from my 2015 6.2 Silverado. The MBRP is garbage is 8 months old and looks like hell.....rusted like a 20 year old piece of junk. MBRP says just to use a little metal polish to bring it back... well maybe if I sandblasted the thing first that might work..... but there is no polishing in the world cleaning this up. They don't warrant rust either on their T409 systems and say it's "normal"..... uh huh...... Oh and even suggest you buy T304... funny... you jerkoffs don't make a T304 exhaust for my truck. Oh well... enough about scrap metal.

The ATAK fit pretty good and is the dual out model with 2 tips under the bumper. It sounds awesome on startup with a much richer tone than the MBRP ever had..... and on the throttle in the truck is good. One nice huge plus from the MBRP.... the ATAK when cruising has about as much interior noise as the stock system did..... which is great. I don't have AFM enabled and likely in the next while will rip the lifters right out of the truck and do a cam so I don't care about that aspect. The one tip does stick back further than the other but I think I can pull the passenger side out a little if I loosen it off if it really bothers me. The drivers side will not go any further back as I already tried that.

We will see how it holds up... won't be like this junk I am sure:

Damn man, why would you run T409 up north? I bet the stock exhaust holds up better than that, hey at lease the exhaust tip was T304 and its in much better shape so that's what the Borla will be like. I appreciate the pics to prove what you were saying about the MBRP for others to see.

IMO, MBRP is junk and over priced exhaust. I have learned to have to spend money to save money.

little google search,

The most frequently used stainless steel in performance exhaust system is T409. Found in Gibson & MBRP exhaust and many stainless mufflers, this mixture has enough chromium and nickel to resist corrosion. But, it lacks the strength to be used for fasteners. Next up in the ring for corrosion resistance and all-around toughness is the T304 steel used in Borla exhaust headers and Corsa exhaust. This is the highest quality stainless steel used in the automotive world. It is most often found in exhaust tips. Super tough and nearly impervious to rusting, T304 has around 20% chromium and 10% nickel content in the alloy. In fact, the ferrous metal content is so low that magnets won’t stick to it, making identifying T409 from T304 very easy.
