I just installed an Injen cold air intake for my truck. Very easy to install open top but draws from the fender well. The difference in sound from stock to this is night and day when you get on it but it's not abnoxious. Dry filter no oiling and when I read their dyno test they had the highest gains I've seen and if you look closely it's around 90 degrees when they did the dyno. I have not dynoed it but I notice a huge difference in acceleration and response. Best part it was on sale for $240.

I guess they made their deadline. I posted this about a month ago and their rep said it was about 6-8 weeks away.

Still waiting for a dryflow filter setup though.

Doesn't look like Airaid has released their MIT yet. That is the route I will be going as well.

10HP at 5250 RPM? I guess that's useful if you drag/race your truck. 99.9% of owners won't notice the difference.

That just peak power. Generally air intakes do increase power across the board as you can see in the graph. However, being in a heavy application its not going to be too too noticed. Do a few of these 10-12rwhp mods and it adds up and makes for a very noticeable difference for any driving condition. And I do like to put my foot thru the floor sometimes! :driving:

Yeah, that would be nice as well and mod the factory air box. I've done this route in the past. Cheaper too.

If someone would get the diameter of the throttle body, this would be easy to make up using the factory airbox which can be modded to accept more air. The factory airbox still has the mass air setup in it so you would need that diameter as well. All you need to come up with is a pipe that has 2 ports on it that would go to the factory valve cover breathers. I found a site that sells silicone couplers http://www.siliconeintakes.com/product_info.php?cPath=3&products_id=36&osCsid=9a7f6f5417eda38b64a21fba33bfb2b6 and it looks like this should be easy to mock up. I don't have my truck yet, most likely another 8 or 9 weeks yet but I am sure someone will figure this out before then.

My Sierra AT supposedly comes with a higher flow air cleaner than other models but I'm quite certain there is no discernible difference. And before I drop anyone's on a CAI I want to see/hear some real life tangible performance gains. I also would likely wait for K&N because they are really the industry standard for CAI kits regarding quality and fit.

I will Dyno before and after but it will be a a couple weeks before I get time to saddle up to a Dyno. I won't be going with K&N though if that's all you are interested in. I like a sealed air box that won't sound like it's going to suck small plains from the sky.

 

As far as your High Flow Air Box... I call dibs if you decide to get rid of it.

Yes there is a noticeable difference with adding the intake. I for one feel that it increased throttle response, and added some extra HP. Others have said that it really woke the truck up. I'm currently back to stock and can say stock seems a little sluggish compared to when the intake was on.

 

I have one for sale if anyone is interested..

I also went back to stock.... All the CAI are too noisy for me. But all you guys tuning, changing exhaust , etc, etc.. would probably not care about this.

 

I ended up trying both the Airaid and Volant systems. They are both good... but I would probably prefer the Volant because the box it closed and it pulls air from 2 seperate locations.

Curious, why did you go back stock?

 

Looking at @ a 2013 F150 FX4. My vibration issues haven't gone away, and dealer won't go any further in till I put back on stock tires. But I sold them already. So I'm not going to spend $800 just so they can tell me the vibration is still present.
