Well yes and no. The factory navigation systems are slow to use compared to the phones. Its 10x easier to search for something on google maps and push a button for directions. Compared to on a navigation system everything has to be manually entered.

hence, why I said Working...

I think it would be perfect if you could somehow beam an address to the oem navigation. Like if I was looking for the nearest chipotle near me. I'd be using my phone, then when I found one and clicked route, the vehicles navigation would automatically get the directions.

One can only wish though....

I've never used built-in navi, but I use Google Maps and it's just as good as a $200 Garmin. I do wish mine had the built-in navi, but not going to sweet it. The Onstar navi shouldn't even be called a navigation system, it's as basic as you could get without even a map. If only they just had Google Maps. With Onstar you can send an address from the app too the truck, but as I said the Onstar navi is useless. Plus it's annoying that you have to go through an Onstar rep just to find an address. The one time I tried it while it was the free trial she couldn't even find the address in their systme when I gave it to her.

I test drove a truck with the built in navigation and it was nice. It actually showed the current weather status (rain, snow, sunny, etc) in the clouds above the vehicle. But for the price tag of that truck to mine, Google maps works fine.

As for a GPS mount, I can't use it anymore cause my phone is too heavy but I use to use the one you would see on TV with the sticky green pad. Actually works great for a smaller phone. Now that I have a note 3 with a massive extended battery it damn near rips the thing off the window haha

If you have factory navi I think you can just look at the weather unless that's what you meant. But, I have a bunch of weather apps on my phone. I wouldn't mind having factory navi but I don't think I want to pay $200 (I think) to do an aftermarket upgrade.

It's only $200 for the dealership to uprade the system? That ain't bad

No I meant ,if I remember correctly, it's $200 for the needed parts and then you have to install everything including splicing into some of the factory wiring. I could be off though, could be even more or a little less. I don't mind doing wiring but splicing into factory wiring on a new truck I'm not exactly comfortable with so I'd end up paying another $100 or so for a shop to do it for me. It would be nice for that stuff to be integrated into the truck, but I'm fine with Google Maps and the other feww apps on my phone lol.

You can send destinations and routes through On Star with Map Quest.

Added new wheels and tires...finally.

love the wheels man! What are they? I've never seen them before in a truck. They remind me of Volk Te37's

Thanks. They are made by FN Wheels. They are the BFD model. They only weigh about 23 lbs each.

What dealership is doing that for $200. Your off a 0.

Aftermarket is $900 to $1800 and the Dealership will out source it for even more.

If you find a dealership within 24 hours drive of Colorado that will do it for under $500 I am on my way.
