I've been averaging 17.5 mpg lifetime, about 70% city driving and 30% interstate. 5.3 with 3.42 gears.

Also, today I gave her a spa day. Washed, detailed, waxed. Took me hours but it was well worth it. Of course it's dark and you can't see it, but I took a picture anyway :P

Did you take that with a cell phone?

Posted

Oh no, I wish! Took it with my aging DSLR.

Ah makes sense, I was going to say that's the clearest cell phone picture I've ever seen. Very nice sir!

A little off topic but I'm looking into get my first DSLR, any recommendations?

Well, it all depends on your budget and what you want out of it. Are you interested in stills more than in video, or the other way around? Canon has been better than Nikon for video for a few years now. Image quality wise, either brand will award you with good images, provided you use a decent lens. I personally am a Nikon person (because I liked them better five years ago when I got my camera), but if I was buying today I would have a hard time choosing.

My personal advice is go to a local Best Buy or shop that has cameras out of the box, hold them in your hand, snap a few random shots, see what feels better in your hand, and go from there. If you're looking for something on the entry range, Canon's T3i, T5i and T6i are all very good cameras. So are Nikon's D5200 and D5300.

From these models the next step up (70D, D7200) change the number of manual controls (buttons, actually) you have, to speed up setups, but image quality won't change much, if at all.

Got my front windows tinted at 20% to match the back. Went with ceramic tent to block some additional heat since I've got a black truck with black interior.

I'm trying to find the thread where someone added washers to "push" the from bumper out. Can someone help me out? Trucks at the body shop getting the front bumper repainted and clear bra installed.

Aren't those illegal?

Sick mileage with those 35's!

Not to my knowledge. But I've had cops at DWI checkpoints tell me that it was a great idea and that they would look into ones for their squad cars (this is back when I had my Yukon)

I don't see how yall are getting averages of 18+ mpg. Must really baby them things. Especially yall with the 6.2. Maybe it's because I tow a trailer almost daily and I run mine like it's a Corvette lol

I drive mine like I stole it and get 11.5-12.5 MPG city. On the highway, doing the same gets me around 15

I got them from carid.com. They have red and black ones. They have some engraved with GMC or Denali. Or you own custom message.

Sorry for the delay in responding... We've been away.

I'll check them out.

Thanks.

I got tired of having to find ways to lash stuff down in the bed... Bought a "Kargo-Bar", very easy to install/move around, very secure, and easily stores under the rear seat. $29 Blackjack Truck Accessories.

Great for coolers, lawn chairs, toolboxes, anything.

I've had those before. Picked one up at Costco a few years ago. If left exposed to the elements do not expect it to last long. The metal mechanism will rust right away.

No, I'll only use as needed. Takes up very little space under the back seat. Nice for mowers and gas cans too.

Bolted on the hood hinge light bracket and they fit amazingly. I temporarily bolted on the Rigid pods to see how they look and I am very happy with the look of the lights. Its way too damn hot and humid today to actually mount and wire them in. I really wish I had a garage or carport at times like this.
