What did you have to do to install the 2nd set of bed lights? Any wire splicing?

This past week I partially debadged the tailgate (removing the dealer badge and the chevy emblem).

Installed rear frame hole covers.

And installed factory aluminum skid plates (sprayed in Line-X).

It really helps when you have family with an awesome lift...

Michelin LTX A/T 2 (275/60/20). They rub slightly on the UCA's because the sidewalls bulge a little more than the OEM's and the level pulls the whole wheel in a little tighter as well. I don't want spacers so I just avoid full lock.

Last night I mounted my Lowrance "Trophy 5m Baja" to my cupholders lol. Sounds funny but it actually works really well bolted up there and it's completely solid!

I removed the rubber liner and cut away about a 2"x3" section to allow me to bolt up a RAM mount while being able to completely cover up the bolts/nuts with the rubber cup holder liner.

Here's a couple quick photos I took this morning:

I still need to hardwire the unit and install the external GPS because, at least where I have it mounted, it's definitely needed.

got the last of the white LEDs to blue today. the steering wheel was the final bit - man, what a pain to get the trim pieces off of the steering wheel, but i'd absolutely do it again becuz it looks pretty sweet!

this was "pre" steering wheel getting blued....

i still need to change some red LEDs in the dash to blue - hopefully in the next week or so!

***oh... does anyone know how to get the rear view mirror apart? it's got 3 buttons (on star, sos, voice command (i think?)) that glow white but i don't know what to do to pop it open without damaging the mirror. i was at the local chev dealership on friday and they were no help. i just don't want to break it!

I have my old mirror in the garage still. If I remember tonight I'll try to get it apart and let you know.

thanks - i was able to figure it out yesterday. i watched a couple videos on replacing auto dimming mirrors and they showed how to get it apart - basically wedge a screw driver in the seam of the plastic parts and twist

i just made sure i started on the top on my mirror so any damage wouldn't really be noticeable

Added a Gero gun magnet and got a new DA polisher that I used on my truck today. Used 3D Speed polish and it came out great.

A magnet! Jesus that's so simple I can't believe I didn't think of it. I was afraid I'd have to buy multiple different mounts depending on what I was carrying.

How solid is it? Do any light off reading in it with that? I take a small trail to an area I shoot, it would be nice to not need to keep it concealed on me during that drive assuming it's solid. Either way I'm gonna look into this.

It's all good until you get into an accident. The idea of an unsecured loaded weapon with nothing covering the trigger flying around the cab of my truck didn't sound very good to me.

Just because something is convenient doesn't make it safe. There are better options.

Yeah but realistically you could throw a condition 1 glock against a wall or anything and it'll never fire. It's pretty much the case with anything unless you roll with the hammer cocked lol but glocks don't have that issue. Very cool mount btw!!! Great idea
