Wow! You guys make me tired just seeing all your projects.

I have eveything piled in *my half* of the garage to do a makeover on one bathroom. Taking it down to the studs so the house general wants me to wait until retirement (88 days and counting). Waiting on her decision on what she wants for shower walls and it better happen fast! I WILL be taking the garage back, one way or the other......

I will be taking on a new project soon. Our home was built in 55. It had a breezeway that led to a seperate building. The previous owners (original) closed off the breezeway to make a pretty large sunroom between the two buildings. The seperate building is a single garage, office/storage room, laundry room, and another full bathroom. It also has the entrance to the basement in there. We use the laundry room at this point, but not much else. Wife hates how cold it is out there and I hate how expensive it is to heat it. Baseboard hot water heat. We found that with that thermostat at 50* it kept the oil burner going...A LOT. I was wondering why we wre filling up every month the last year and a half during winter. Construction is all cinderblock. There is insulation above, but not sure if any was shot into the walls. Stout building, but cold in the winter, hot in the summer... Plan is to pack out the walls, insulate, drywall. New carpet/flooring, new windows, and new doors, stand-alone a/c. Brother owns an exterior home remodeling company so I can get everything cheaper....hopefully haha. Plan is to make the sunroom an everyday room. I want to open the kitchen into it and use it more like a relax area. Kids can do homework and lounge....whatever. Project after that is the basement. It is ready to be finished with the recent completion of the french drain system!! After that, I think we are taking out some interior walls to open her up a bit, then a new kitchen. My forecast is 2 years, but I will be doing everything myself with the occasional help from my good friend who happens to be my nieghbor and talanted GC. This is my first home and I have loved it from the start. Nothing better then making is yours!

My dad wants to clear out the garage this summer, tear down the ugly 70's wood paneling, patch any holes in the drywall, paint the walls and then do the concrete renew stuff that makes the ground look like a showroom floor, should really make my new quad really stand out in there lol

My parents also are about to sign on a cabin up in WV about 5 hours from us as a vacation house. We would have 21 acres of our own, hunt club behind us, legal to run quads on the road, and Summerville Lake is 5 miles down the street, perfect for our little boat! The house needs work but they are getting it at a pretty good deal and my sisters BF said he will do the central air HVAC for free, we just buy supplies and help. We also will do all the other work ourselves, or as much as we can!

Next up, putting up an in-ground basketball hoop for my son. takes 270lbs of concrete and a 3 ft hole. Doesnt sound like fun :( Anyone have some dynomite?

@ryan Looks great dude! I'm almost done with my kitchen remodel myself just need to paint the walls. If I could make a suggestion, toss up a 1x4 on the end of the counter to run between the wall and the pillar stain it to match your cabinets and it would tie things in really nice.

Not sure where you are exactly talking. Are you talking about the edge of the counter?Ryan

I rented one.... wish it was mine, I'd be makin some serious cash for side jobs.....

On a side note, a 3 foot square hole is not that bad. Last spring I dug around 3 sides of my house down to the footer to install drainage tile for the basement. All by hand. Probably 120-140 feet of pipe worth. Took a while but it was do-able.
