Just installed. Looks great and cost $40 shipped. The clip and tether on the old one was a PITA but other than that, worked fine. Great and cheap, practical addition!

Not that it was hard but the instructions helped. Thanks

For anyone interested I bought mine from a GM dealer on amazon and was $42 with free prime shipping. Not sure if good deal or not, just bought it since I was buying something else from amazon and had a gift card

Can you post the direct link to the Amazon item? Well, if it is the gray one for black interior, that is.

Thanks! I had found that one via a search but it was telling me "not eligible for Prime free shipping" on the page so I thought maybe there was another one that was Prime eligible that I wasn't finding. Says shipping is free, anyway, so I guess it's the same result though it might not be 2-day shipping. Thanks for posting the link! I think this will be extremely handy to have.

I don't remember if it was with prime or not when I bought it but shipping was free and It came pretty quick. Bill Cramer Chevy is the dealership I bought from on Amazon and so shouldnt be any issues.

BTW, I just checked with shopchevyparts.com 37.50 for part. They want $17.50 for UPS ground shipping to Oklahoma? And shipping prices only go up from there. What does that part way, 5 lbs at the most. That is their cheapest option!

Seems steep.

Most all those places charge a lot more for shipping then it actually costs. You not paying the worker for the 3 minutes it takes to package it up, you are paying him for the whole hour.

Check my link and give them a call. When I ordered from them the handle was $37.50 and somewhere around $5-$7 shipping (I don't remember the exact number).

Just searched and got $15.75 shipping to Pa. Maybe you have to call to get a better price. They are in Oregon. Perhaps an Eastern dealer will do better for some of us.

I am in southcentral PA. Maybe their shipping prices went up after I ordered mine (December).

Thanks guys. I installed mine a few hours ago. This thing is great! Much better than the steering wheel.

I was thinking about installing this in my 2015, but decided against it.

I remember recently checking out the IIHS crash test for the most recent body style, and the only real issue the truck had was with the small overlap frontal crash test. The driver's head came close to striking the A-pillar during the test. It seems to me that the handle would shorten the gap, and that might be why it is not standard equipment.

If it's avoidable, I'd rather not hit my head on the bolted in handle during an accident. Sure, my left leg might still get crushed, but most of the time they can pick up the pieces and put extremities back together.
