The aluminum ones look like bare aluminum. All grey

The color is different, but magnet is the easiest as I assume dang near everyone has some kind of magnet (eg. Refrigerator magnet) laying around the house.

build date 1-6-2016 Denali 4x4 CC short bed 6.2 8 spd 3.23 Steel upper and lower. Looks pretty sturdy I like it. My tradein was a 14 SLT 4x4 Z71 CC short bed 5.3 6spd 3.42 it had aluminum arms on it.

The only difference that it makes is the bolts for one kit is longer than the other (steel vs aluminum). We install a lot of rough country leveling kits and after finally speaking to rough country, they informed us one kit will work for both, just the bolts will be longer.
