Whos driving any vehicle passed 150k anymore really, and I mean really. Dont say you are. Data shows most americans dont own a car for more than 5 years or so. And really theres no emperical data to show what this engine will do or not do. Its been out 38 months now, with most hard core drivers getting 20k a year, these trucks are just getting into the 100k mark.

Im not saying they will do well after 150k. But its speculatory to say they wont do well or will do well, and to top it off as I said before nobody is keeping these things to 150k.

Most driver of company supplied pick ups that I deal with turn their trucks in at 200k, every 3 or 4 years. If their truck don't run jobs don't run. They are mostly fords. Ive seen more than a few going past 200k. I say Half of the people here in the south go 150k, company trucks go longer with original owners.

I have 3 "daily drivers" My F250 has 166,000 Yukon has 204,000 and the Jeep has 223,000. No plans to replace any of them for a long time. So, Yes, I DO drive them well past 150,000

Entire test is BS! #1 killer for naturally aspirated engines is high altitude = thin air = substantially less HP. Take them all down to sea level and run the same test.

turbos and superchargers operate off different principals. A turbo in general is better for a motor. Granted whenever you add an induction system to the mix you add more variables and more potential for failure. But with proper engineering you can mitigate those risk. Europe i.e. benz and mercedes have building vehicles with this technology for years and some of the best reliability in the world. The problem is in America we have for decades insisted on throwing more cubic in to the equation to solve performance problems, and thats fine and all but is it the best approach?

Last time I checked MB was known for large displacement engines AND turbo chargers my man. The US has dealt w/ turbo 4's and 6's for years, and now it looks like multiple brands are slapping superchargers onto big displacement V8's as well.

average age is different than ownership. people look to buy a car every 5-6 years http://www.cnbc.com/id/49504504

people typically own 13 in a life time. Get a license at 16, die at average age of 81, means getting a new car to you every 6 years. Typically people arent looking to get 150k out of a vehicle, or looking for vehicles with that many miles on them unless they are teens, or people with low income.

I know they have been turbo charging for years I said that. But if you look at their engine models most of them are smaller and or diesel. Yes theyve had some larger engines, but that isnt the norm and not sure thats what they make their bread and butter on. And yes the US has dealt with some turbos in the past but it has been limited and they have been junk. As far as superchargers minus say your performance market or your one off special edtion(mustang, camaro etc.), what are they putting them on? As far as I know in none of the three are offering super chargers in a line model impala, charger, fusion etc.

At those elevations all the naturally aspirated motors are down more than 20% in power versus the turbo charged motors that are still at 100% power.. BS test

The only times I wished for a turbocharged engine was indeed at high altitude. That's what the original use was in airplanes in the 30s and 40s.

Me.

Have 2 with 230,000+ right now. Retired/sold several still running well @ 250,000+.

for all the people calling bs on the test because it is at high altitude, if im not mistaking they said they were in san antonio, TX which is pretty much sea level. could they be lying about that, yes they very well might be. but some of yall act like there is no place in the US where people dont drive their trucks (i.e. pull trailers, race, normal driving) at high elevation.

this is just a huge pissing match that ford and chevy guys have gone through since the 50's. the EB is a nice truck, whether the engine last or not is TBD. the chevy / gmc's are great trucks as well but they are not for everyone just like the EB's are not for everyone.

I hate fords, i really do, but if you have not driven a EB or towed with one that has a 3.55 gear or higher (numerically) then honestly your input on this matter is biased at the least. the only thing that can break the EB from becoming fords best engine is reliability.

And a person only needs to google ecoboost turbo problems........to see there has been LOTS !

and a person only has to google "chevy vibration problems" ..... to see there have been LOTS !

both manufacturers have their issues, it's which one do you like best.

a little vibration versus an engine turbo burning up or not lasting as long as a truck is normally kept ! ...........hmm which one is worse....I will take the vibration (and I don't have any vibration in mine)
