I think any expectation that a 15 would really be any different than a 14 is misplaced. Do you realize the length of time it takes to get the logistics going on manufacturing such a product? They probably started designing the 15 back in 13 and ordering parts at the same time. It takes a long time to get any design change into the pipe.

The 6.2L power is so restrained by the AFM, 8 speed, and the 3.23 rear axle ratio that there's no point of even getting it. It didn't seem to have any more power than my 2014 5.3L w/6 speed.

 

 

I agree with the others as to "jumping the gun" on your review of the trucks you drove. You should know from experience that these things need time and miles to "tune" to the way you drive. I distinctly remember when I started driving mine, the engine/tranny acted like a POS. Didn't take very long for it to settle down and it's been a dream ever since. Granted, the 6 speed has it's little quirks, but hopefully there may be a GM tweak down the road.

 

If you do decide to jump the fence and try a different brand, I doubt you will get something that's perfect out of the box. All vehicles have issues of some sort. Just check the other forums, as I'm sure you have. Whatever you decide to do I wish you luck.

Before judging me let's wait until more people own and start complaining about the 2015's. It will happen eventually, just not enough people own them yet.

 

Let's not even focus on the vibrations, just think about this, a top of the line 2015 GMC Denali and when you sit in it you immediately see dash warp, how does that make it out of the plant.

 

As for the vibration and shake, you can think whatever you want, but I'm not going to give them my trade assistance and another $4000 just to get back some of the same issues I already have.

How long have these sat on the lot? Flat spots on tires? How far did you drive them? My Camaro will ride crappy if it sits but after 10 miles it's fine

 

As far as the transmissions they take time to learn your driving style. A test drive will not indicative of how they will act after some miles are put on them.

2 of them arrived at the dealership Friday night, the 6.2L and the Denali.

I drove them each at least 8 miles, maybe more wasn't keeping track though.

I will add this though, the undercoating on all three trucks looked flawless.

The fact they aren't even repairing the 14's tells me they haven't even identified the issue in the 14's yet so you couldn't think it'd be fixed in the 15's.

I would love to see one of these flawless trucks. I have bought three 2014s and gave the dealer plenty of tries at fixing them. Never drove anything but a Chevy but this is f!@#ing ridiculous. So let me get this right. I believe the OP 100% . I do not believe anyone that claims to have a flawless 2014-15. Really? No vibes in the steering wheel or pedals? No shakes? No banging and clanging transmission? No clicking drivers seat? No undercoating peeling off and rusting frames? I could go on but you get the point. But let me point this out. The word is out on these trucks and in a few years when you want to sell or trade you will probably loose money because who wants to buy a Chevy Vibrato.

I forgot about that and plus they haven't found the problem since it seems random. Your comment reminded me about the new Camaro, I believe the design and everything started around 06 roughly. So I'm sure everything on the new K2s started not long after the past new design the 07s. It's just a rumor, but they're supposedly starting on the next body design already and will be around 2018. I'm only 29 but I kind of miss when the same body style would stick around for a decade or more before any major body changes. Now it seems like people get tired of a body style in no time to they have to always redesign things.

Had mine since April and the only thing you've listed it's really done is the trans shifting a little hard 2 or 3 times if that much and I don't even feel it anymore. So maybe it was while it was breaking in. When it did do it, It wasn't that bad at all and I can tell a difference between that shift and my old 98 with a 4L60e that went bad (felt like it was going to fall apart). Other than that the only problems would be personal preferences that can be changed like the 3.08 gears. But, that's ok since no vehicle is perfect for any one person.

Next time you're in the Raleigh area, hit me up. You can come drive mine. No shakes, no vibrations, no seat movement, no clicking noises, no rusty frame. The only problem I had was the radio reception issue and it seems to have cleared itself up or been remedied by one of the recall flashes.

 

That's an open invitation for anyone that thinks the K2 trucks are crap. I'm not doubting that some might be, but mine certainly isn't.

I too have a flawless one..........oh wait....the radio sucks. Now that HD is permanently off it's OK, but shouldn't be that way.

It's just a rumor, but they're supposedly starting on the next body design already and will be around 2018. I'm only 29 but I kind of miss when the same body style would stick around for a decade or more before any major body changes. Now it seems like people get tired of a body style in no time to they have to always redesign things.

I worked at the truck plant and was there for the launch of the 2015 trucks. After the launch was over they kept a few guys on the launch team to get ready for the new launch in 2017 (2018 trucks). Talking with them the new launch is going to be solely around the chasis, nothing to do with the body. It's not going to be a complete overhaul as the last one was..

Oh ok good to know. I like the Chevy body style so I'm glad at least looks wise it will last longer.
