vled LMZ led headlights

I love the output of the VLEDS, but with all the issues, I'm starting to think they are not worth the brain damage. ....

 

 

Just to clarify: You've had multiple bulbs burn out, issues with the connector and I think another guy had a bulb go out--when put in the FOGLIGHTS? Is that correct?

 

As far as I can remember in this and the other long thread, nobody has had a single issue with these lights installed in the Headlights?

That's correct. I have them in my high beam and no issues there...

The whole point behind the LMZ lights is that they can be adjusted to work acceptably in the projectors. So if these can't, saying the LMZ's are a ripoff might not be appropriate.

 

 

 

Is the cuttoff cleaner with the halogens? I don't think I've seen a pic of the stock non-projector lights posted. The above isn't a very clean cutoff and looks like it needs to be adjusted down a lot to keep from blinding oncoming traffic.

I haven't seen anyone run these with projectors, I just heard someone on here say that they might not be good. If that is the case, then if you have projectors than yes, LMZ might be the way to go but my point in saying that they are a rip off is that SLE/Silverado owners are having issues and because of the DRL problem and these don't have that same issue for less than half the cost.

 

I haven't adjusted them down yet, I know they need to since I have a 2" leveling kit and bigger tires.

When I spoke with VLED's, they told me that they would not work on a Silverado with Projectors, but more so becaue of the DRL issue. That is why they recommended their HID kit.

This is the exact reason why I say they are a rip off, for as much money as they charge they could build in CanBus capability into their lights. The OPT7 set is compatible with DRL's and won't cause any issues.

I could say them same for all the VLED nut swingers trying to justify their 200$ purchase to others looking to buy LED head lights

My biggest point is that some people come onto forums for advise and help when looking for aftermarket options, like LED headlights, and see a thread about VLED and may think that its their only option since that's what everyone is buying. When in reality there are other options that work just as well and more compatible with particular trucks for less than half the cost

The biggest reason why the thread was made for the VLED bulbs is because they can be adjusted, like Jon said, which makes them useable in a projector. Seems to me like most people looking for advice on LED headlights have a Sierra or Silverado LTZ headlights (so the projector issue comes into Play)

I went with them because I didn't know about OPT7 at the time, and probably still would just because I think 6000k light is too blue-ish. I run OPT7 LEDs in my high beams.

Lmz heads aren't that bad price-wise if you look at rigid prices for fog lights. Opt7 even says regularly 189 lol. I like the adjustability of the Lmz heads as well as being able to swap the collar and put them in other vehicles in the future if I choose. Opt7 may be a viable solution for non projector assemblies.

Also, it seems VLEDs has dropped the price of the LMZ headlight bulbs, from $250 to $200.

I put the Vleds in my fogs today. I took the whole fog light housing out to do it. It was a tight squeeze but it worked.

 

I have not ran them at night but might they need to be adjusted? If so how are they adjusted? I saw an adjustment on the housing when I took it out.

We'll have a full replacement LED fog light housing available soon--another option for better performance than the stock fogs even with LED bulbs in them.
