Anyone run the LMZ bulbs in LT reflector headlamps?

That sounds like a good way to blind EVERYONE.

for high beams I'm sure its fine but for low beams.. the housings don't really favor higher lumen output systems like LED or HID.

Actually it's more filament location and diode location than lumens. But thanks for playing. Yes, I suspect it's impossible to get the diode to an acceptable location and provide proper cutoff.

RobZ71LM7 is right, it is all about filament/diode location, an HID has its light being produced at a different offset from the reflector than a halogen does so thats why the beam pattern is all out of wack, not cause of the lumen output

Morris Lee proved that when he was able to match the beam pattern near perfectly when he matched the diode offset to the filament offset in his fog lights. He has the VLED LMZs in his fogs and his pattern is incredible

Installed my LMZ kit on low beam today. Haven't figured out the sealing yet, will do it on the weekend. Lighting is incredible, I would recommend these to anyone looking for headlight improvements

Use code "MAY10" for 10% off your order.

I recently bought a set of the VX3 LED Headlights as they were a slightly cheaper alternative to the LMZs. I know many of you might not have any experience with these, but perhaps you can give me a guess as to what is going on. The bulbs work fine when you first turn the truck on, but within seconds of putting it in reverse or drive the bulbs will go out. Almost like some type of voltage surge cuts the bulbs off? Then they might just come back on at some random point or when I park the truck. There really is no rhyme nor reason to it. I might just have to bite the bullet and get the LMZs. Any suggestions? I plan to call Vled tomorrow. Thanks

I'm interested in knowing what you find out. I just bought the VX3 LEDs over the weekend and should be delivered Thursday. I'm hoping they turn out well, but I'm curious to see what you find out.

Have they figured out how to make the LMZ's work with the DRL's? You guys are spending A LOT of money for lights that don't work properly, I think 250 is crazy for lights that don't work 100%. I just picked up a set of eBay ones that work flawlessly and have no problem with DRL's.

Here are a couple of pics from last night with low beams only!

You need a capacitor to filter out the PWM, and use that clean signal to drive a relay and power the LEDs

Mine have worked from day 1 with the DRLs, must be a professional grade thing lol! On a serious note I do believe there is a fix for them to work with the other types of drl on the sle and the Chevys. I just don't know what it is, someone else can chime in if you don't wanna read back through all these pages.

I thought I did read that there was a fix but that's A LOT of money to spend on a set that then requires a fix to make them work for SLE and Chevy trucks. Their lights don't seem to be any different than the eBay ones but cost over twice as much.

Id say the difference is, if they are true to their words, would be the lifespan and warranty possibly. Lmz are rated for 30k hours or 35k hours lifespan If I recall.

If that is true, then I'd spend 250+ replacing regular headlights in that amount of time.
