There was never a Corvette that had any of these truck engines. Not sure where that came from but it's incorrect.

Sure, the Vette had a DI engine but not the same one used in the trucks. Trucks do not share an engine with any Corvette.

False.

The LT1 in the C7 Corvette and the L86 (Ecotec3 6.2) available in the high-trim level trucks are the same engine. Only differences are the intake and exhaust manifold and of course tuning.

True.

It's different no matter what wiki you post.

Different tuning = different engine behavior, power curve, any way you look at it they are different. You even posted examples of the differences.

Different engine codes for the Vette engine and the truck engine. They are not the same.

Truck is L86....no Vette has that engine, sorry.

Ask yourself, what makes an LT1 an L86? Truck exhaust, truck intake manifold, and a tune that accommodates the application. The L86 and LT1 have less differences between them than my LT1 has from a stock LT1 and my L86 has from a stock L86.

The automatic SS Camaro and manual SS Camaro have the same engine right? They are both a Camaro SS with a 6.2L V8, yet one is called L99 and the other LS3. Why is that? Don't get hung up on engine codes. They are the same engine except for AFM lifters. Engine codes are for the parts and service department, not end users, which is all we are. Just because we get a little more into it than our moms doesn't mean anything except we can argue about engine codes. What a waste of time.

But it is the same engine just a intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and tuning dry or wet sump away from being identical. Same heads, camshaft, compression ratio. If you don't believe me then LMR, Lingenfelter, and GM Performance must be lying.

Sorry for entering this so late, but first let me address the pictures. At 20k miles, and the RX can installed at the last 9K that level is where the corvette/truck/or any other GM GDI valves would be at 5-10k miles. And yes, the 6.2 (and 5.3 for that matter) GM v8's are the same in every platform from 2014 up except the Camaro retianed the L99 and LS3 until 2016. Only cam profile and a few minor variances, but all are the same base design.

Here is a Corvette at 5500 miles:

So yours when you installed the RX system seem to have not gotten worse since verifying the claims. Also note RX brand has been hi-jacked and some jokers are selling cheap glued together Chinese made knock offs, so to get the absolute best solution the new ELite E2-X series is what stops this. The other lower cost Elite cans also help and are good, but the E2-X is what was designed to stop all of this possible. The real RX can still be contacted at their email: [email protected], but they have stopped marketing the RX brand until they can get the knock-offs stopped.

These issue are here as GM and all automakers have been forced to adopt GDI to meet the CAFE fuel economy standards, and if this is not addressed the valve guides are wearing faster than old carbureted engines used to before port fuel injection eliminated intake valve coking. NO fuel is sprayed on the valves any longer and they run far hotter so the build up now is worse that anything in the old days of carbureted engines that caused the fed's mandated minimum detergent additives in fuel in the 70's.

There is another thread I have posted toms in so I don't duplicate this with all sorts of technical data, so search my other posts to find it. And I am happy to answer any questions. But be aware that 99% of all catchcans no matter the brand only trap 15-40% of the oil and other compounds that cause this coking, so you really will want to get the proper one, and above all I have tested and recommend the Elite E2-X above all.

I installed my RX Catch can at 500 miles on my 6.2 Silverado. I've drained it twice. The first time at 1,000 miles on the odometer I got just a tiny bit of oil out of the can. Now the second time was at 4,600 miles!!! Wow I can't believe this much oil/water milky mix would have been going back into the engine!!! Picture to follow...

You can see in the top photo the darker shade above the first line of the solo cup, that's how much oil was in there for 3,600 miles of driving.

So these guys are the knock off or are legit?

I just bought a can from them? After reading these threads, i realized I should have done this a while ago. Good thing I only put 11K miles on my truck so far.

I kinda figured after reading a few camaro posts about it. I sent them an email asking to stop my purchase and I also called my credit card to decline their purchase. I am going to speak to them tomorrow again and confirm not to go with my purchase.

There were reports saying after a seafoam treatment the cat would cog up

Can anyone confirm?

My mechanic says the ethanol in gas will do more damage to a cat than a BG induction service ever will. That's the only information I have on the matter because I asked about it.
