I have been thinking of putting lowering shackles on mine to try and even the rake. Would either of these shocks be good for this. I would like to take some of the bite out of the Z60 harshness. Sprinkle GSM in front would really probably help. I am 2wd and extended cab.

I just got the 5100 installed with roughcountry 2.5 front and 2 rear. All I got to say is that my ride is smooth as butter. Way better than stock! And that's with 20x10 -12 w/305 55 20

I have the same level kit and am thinking about the 5100's. Any fitment issues or anything I need to be aware of?

Thanks

I am also considering this set-up. I believe I would run just the 2" below strut spacer and 5100's on 2nd setting (1 up from stock).

Thank you for the continued orders!!

We are stocked up on 5100s, get yours here - http://shop.mrtmotorsports.net/bilstein-shock-sets/bilstein-5100-complete-set/2423830433238319/i-2304103.aspx

Do you have the NHT Heavy Tow package?

Yellow/Blue = 4600

Silver/Black = 5100

Both a big upgrade over the stock shocks. Go with the 4600 if you want to keep stock height or are needing maximum control for towing or want to run a leveling spacer. Go with the 5100 if you want to level the truck without a spacer or if you like to go offroad.

I'm pretty sure we talked about this many pages ago in this thread so forgive me for maybe asking again. I have a '15 Sierra Max Tow. I'm not happy with the stock ride quality, would like to raise the front some but not too much because I tow and don't want the front aiming too high with a trailer attached. Would you use 5100s in the front and 4600s in the rear? 4600s all around with a spacer in the front? Thanks.

5100s all around!

We almost always suggest the 5100 over the 4600, unless the end user is really wanting to use large front lift spacers (The 4600 is slightly shorter and works better with the spacers, you dont want to be stacking lifts).

For the last 4 posters, the 5100 would be the optimum shock. The only thing to be aware of is to not run the 5100s on the top setting with spacers, you are asking for trouble doing that.

I have read through this forum and the 2014+ Leveling Kit forum over the past 2 weeks (surprised it didn't take me longer) and have gathered some great information. I am looking to only have a maximum of 1/2" of rack when it is all said and done. I have and the puck style level on previous trucks and the ride has been terrible. I am looking to try a different route this go around. Do you think 5100's on 2nd setting and a 1.5" - 2" bottom spacer would would create any major problems, and should it ride better than a 2.5" RC level on stock struts? I am aware of the additional wear that comes along with a 2.5"+ level but I am hoping the Bilstein 5100 will reduce that.

It should ride better than the 2.5RC on stock struts yes. We havent not tested that setup, but I know some other members who are running that who have not had any issues. It may be a little on the firm side with that much preload, but I dont see any issues other than the extra stress on the stock upper ball joint being at a 2.5" lift height.

Floaty in the front and planted in the back.

Just installed 5100's in all corners. I don't have a spring compressor so I had a local shop install the front's. When I got home I noticed this gap by the upper spring seat. Any suggestions on a way to rotate it into place without removing and compressing the spring? I'm sure it's probably unnecessary but I'm a little ocd and I know this will bother me until I fix it (next time I buy a compressor and do it myself from the start).

Do you have any pics of the final look? I have some KO2 275/70 on stock 18s and have bought the 5100's for all for corners as well. Just haven't had the time to put them in. I'm debating on using the middle setting BBC I've seen on here that the truck might ride better, but I'm sure the highest setting will work fine.

How's about a discount for some rear 4600's since my pic was used on your website for the rigid fogs.

Yes totally! We never set up much of a discount because we sell 5100s 20 to 1.

Only issue, I dont have the rears in stock. I do have 6 fronts ready to rock. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss :)

Hard to get a good pic, very steep driveway. If I'm out today I'll get a side profile. Lowest setting in back, third up setting in front. Looks level to the naked eye. Measures out to be in inch lower in the front. These shocks eliminated a ton of the body roll and got rid of the bobble head effect going over small bumps at odd angles. The ride was stiffer at first but after 5k miles it's a softer ride than when I came off the lot.

Better profile pictures, still has the small 255/70 stock tires. The 275/70 18s will look nice.post-167364-0-21622700-1490537819_thumb.jpgpost-167364-0-29696600-1490537828_thumb.jpg

Looks good. I bought my tires right before our ski Tripp to NM and didn't even get to play with them on. No snow until after we left. This is about all I got to do. 8bae8badf595b4c2afcc3f7b9e587cc8.jpg

    • Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young pullets, and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.
    • Can someone confirm if the GM order workbench terminal is able to validate a custom build sequence:   1) Initialize the Allocation Base: Open a new vehicle build queue, select the 2026 Chevrolet Suburban 4WD, and pick the High Country (3LZ Preferred Equipment Group).   2) Select the Diesel Powertrain: Go directly to the engine configuration screen and choose RPO code LZ0 (3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel). Ensure it maps to the MHS 10-speed automatic transmission.   3) Deploy the Seating Swap: Navigate to the Interior Options screen and enter RPO code ATT to replace the standard captain's chairs with the power-release 60/40 bench seat. Because you are not trying to force a separate luxury or air-suspension bundle, the standard, premium D07 Fixed Floor Console remains active. The system will accept this change immediately without triggering a warning message.   3)Apply Heavy-Duty Hauling Capability: Input RPO code NHT (Max Trailering Package). The commercial terminal will automatically bundle the required trailering hardware and software modules to support the diesel engine's maximum towing capacity.   5) Layer the Premium Tech and Glass: Separately add code C3U (Panoramic Power Sunroof) and code UKL (Super Cruise) to the order screen.   6) Run the Final Validation: Click the "Validate Order" button at the bottom of the interface.
    • Spent the last hour or 2 googling and reading up on the spacer thing. I don't like the loss of thread contact on the slip on spacers, but it appears you can get "extended" lug nuts that reach into the hole of the wheel to get back the lost threads. Looks like the only true hubcentric slip on spacers are at least .375". I'd want as little as I could get away with and don't want to cause other clearance issues going any thicker. Bora seems to offer what appears to be a well made .375" spacer and extended lug nuts. I searched here and did find a couple threads recommending Bora. But not cheap. By the time I buy spacers and lugs, new TPMS sensors, then pay a tire shop to install the new sensors, I suspect I'm going to be in over $400. Thinking about running out and getting some washers to put behind the wheel to see if .375" is enough to clear calipers, turn lock to lock without rubbing, and to see if the wheels/tires look strange pushed out a little. This would just be to check fitment.
    • Roadmaster makes some quality parts; I have their sway bar. I considered the RAS, but I ended up bagging. I didn't know what kind of ride I'd get with RAS, and the bags have interior jounce bumpers, so I can run 0 pounds pressure. I figured I'd have the best of normal suspension ride with assist on-demand. But it seems you got pretty much the same in one item.
