Update So far - with no inquiry from me, just received a personal email from the owner that they should ship out later today and will give me a tracking number soon, and thanked me for my order.

looking good so far

This is good news! Would save me some money if I order the shocks separately for the camburg kit

Anybody else see that the 6112 is available on MRT's website?

I thought the same thing... then I realized that the reason the full part number wan't listed was because they are only taking preorders now.  They mentioned in their blog on January 3 that since Bilstein released the Tahoe/Yukon versions that they expect the pickup 6112's to be available soon.  Still waiting.

Oh okay this would make sense. Interesting that they released the SUV versions before the truck versions, seems like the truck would be more popular

Yesterday, had the 5100's installed on all fours and today a new set Goodyear DuraTrac 275/60/20's.

(believe it or not I limped the SRA's to 59.6k miles...yes I was into the wear bar quite a bit..:( )

Plenty of clearance IMHO even given that it has all the factory installed mudguards

(which may eventually disappear as I sure like the looks of the truck without them.....stupid cheap paint)

I certainly noticed the truck firm up, but with 60k on the old shocks no surprise.

I must admit I miss a little of the softness of the worn out shocks but the roll is gone

and the steering wheel and front end feel so much more nimble.

I know the tires are new but are a lot more quite than I expected given the treat pattern.

(I know they will get louder, but a heavy rotation will help)

Overall happy for the cost.  Alignment tomorrow.

This purchase hopefully will keep the evil 4" BDS kit at bay.....

(for a month or two....lol)

Now on to the P&P AMP power boards

and air bags for aiding in pulling the travel trailer...

So I have a 2015 1500 HC with 2.5 RC kit and the 3in block in the rear ( I tow a boat ). The sway and roll is getting borderline ridiculous (i have a sloped rail road track by my house and it dam near throws my passenger out of the truck every time i hit it doing more than 5mph)  and im looking to smooth that problem out. id like to keep the "level kit" if possible and just do shocks all the way around what are my options? tires 295/55/20's AT2s

I kept my level kit on and just did the Bilstein 5100s at stock setting.  Corners and rides so much better!

This happened to my 5100 Bilstein while installing. Went to tighten and shaft snapped. I was able to put broken shaft in vise and the nut came right off. I am a little worried that the quality isn't once it once was. Sent request to Distributor for replacement and was told I had to buy a new one and then send the old one back to see if they would warranty it. Don't feel real good about it.

Literally had the exact same problem a couple months ago. Who was the vendor? They took mine back no issues, and I ended up buying a replacement from a different distributor.

    • I am having similar issues.. 08, 4.8L granted I did had a fender bender and minor damage up front passenger side but I don’t think it had anything to do with it.. I had the high and low pressure checked and my fan for my radiator keeps coming on.. replaced the pressure switch and don’t want to keep throwing parts at it. I did have some minor problems here and there like on long road trips sometimes the ac would get a little warm and then on the highway as soon as I give it a little gas or get a little heavier on the petal it started running cooler. Never had an issue with the ac besides the here and there.. but I also started having issues when I fuel up now it takes a bit to start ( super embarrassing) it runs fine and once started ( only happens after fueling up) starts fine any other time. Could they be related?
    • Spent a small fortune on fuel this weekend.   $6.69 diesel, 18 gallons of that. $6.99 92-octane ethanol free, 10 gallons of that for yard machines $5.59 87-octane for one of the cars, 11 gallons.   $250+ and I didn't even get a tug.   Hormuz ain't Hormuzin again, did not see that coming...LOL
    • Appreciate the advice. I've watched multiple videos. Most showing the most complex for those that have a center console, to one that showed maybe 2 pieces of trim being removed, like 6 screws, pulling back the screen and switch assembly, and installing the inline module. And this was a new/newer Silverado. That didn't look too bad. All the others show alot of trim pieces that need to be removed. I've broken those kind of tabs/clips on my C8 Corvette trying to get to the battery, and that was a lot less clips than what I think is involved here after watching multiple videos and looking at my dash today. I have one on the way. Called a reputable stereo place about installing it and got a "minimum" price of $175. Ouch! Looking forward to seeing what the instructions have to say.
    • Hard to say what the issue might be. Anything from the ability to cool the AC condenser up front, to blend door issues in the HVAC unit, to refrigerant charge, to compressor issues or issues in the lines.   Report back what the techs find on the 29th.   GM has service publications which list acceptable vent temperatures and AC pressures at given ambient temps and humidity. They probably won't touch the system if it's operating within those ranges.   I'm also surprised to hear your 2024 with the L8T is still using R134a? I was pretty sure the HD's had switched to the new refrigerant around 2020.
