I changed plugs today. I had put in a set of Bosch Platinum Plus 80,000 miles ago & today I replaced them with AC Delco Professional Platinum. We'll see how they do. The Bosch didn't look too bad. I was going to post a picture but I'm a noob and couldn't figure out how.

I replaced the plugs on my '01 right at 100k miles. They still looked good, and the engine was running fine. They were AC Delco.

I went with NGK Iridiums, buying into the iridium hype at the time. Around 185,000 miles, the engine began idling rough, mileage tanked, and it was harder to start. Went south pretty quick. When I pulled the plugs, they looked terrible - eroded electrodes.

I went back to AC Delco. No more aftermarket plugs for me.

It's not really hype as it's what GM designed the engine to use. The iridium is to allow longer intervals between changes, kind of like synthetic vs conventional oil in your engine.

I put a set of ACDelco 41-122 Professional Iridium in my 5.3L L33; I'm happy with them.

kicks in to 4th at 41 or 42 mph at 1200 rpm

But I never get it past 2500 rpm most days. I am having it tuned with volant cold air intake, egr delete, and deleting the cats

He was being sarcastic because of the typo in the OP. You accidentally put 7.73 instead of 3.73.

As for spark plugs, as long as you get a top brand I don't see much of a different in performance. I've been using Bosch for awhile in my other trucks, not sure what brand I'll go with on this one.

I have never had luck with anything other than the Delco iridiums in any of the 5.3's I have owned. IMO if you want to get another 124k put the same one that you are taking out in. There is no magic 25hp spark plug out there.

Orilley has a rebate for $2 per plug back right now also. Just put new ones in my 09 and they were on sale for 5.69 so I will end up paying 3.69 per plug.
