Hi everyone,First time posting on here.

I have a question regarding my 2008 GMC sierra. The truck is 2wd, v6 auto.

The truck has been in my posession since it had 3700km (2300 miles) on it, and now has in the region of 90,000km (56,000 miles) on it now, but I have a few dilemmas.

I got the truck for an absolute steal, and all the creature comforts were a nice upgrade from my old truck, but I find that a lot of things are starting to fall apart on it, and am

finding a disconcerting number of areas with rust on it.

There are numerous rattles and squeaks on it, none of which I can seem to trace out. The drivers seat has worn very quick, and the speakers have both "given up the ghost".

Are these common things to expect with owning a gm truck, or did I just get a lemon. My previos DD was a 1977 f250, and it held up a lot better than this one has so far.

It runs fine and gets okay mileage for a v6, and it can haul a fair amount, considering it has not much power.

My question to you guys, are the new trucks really that much better in terms of quality? Would it make sense to live with this truck, fix its faults and save my money, or is it worth upgrading?

Thanks for your help.

PS: If I did get another truck it would likely be a 3/4 tonne, 4 wheel drive, as I travel on a lot of back roads for work and persuing my outdoor obesssion.

Your asking if it's financially justifiable to buy a new 45 thousand dollar truck because your speakers don't work and the seat is a little worn?

..............?

GM Truck drive tranes are very well made - then & now - the other stuff failing is what we all have to deal with - more or less

We all ask that same question, most here upgraded.

After 5 or 10 years of use they get less dependable, depends on who drove it, types of roads, weather, maintenace, and luck of the build.

You feel lucky - lucky enough to keep what you got or lucky enough to up grade & hope for more than you left behind ?

Spending money (up grading) can save agraviation - thats what we're all hoping for

ps - driving off road will shake lose the finest built anything - eventually - so no, you didn't get a lemon (IMHO)
