I test drove a 2016 Silverado with the new Off Road Sport Package today, and I really like it. I asked at the dealership if there's a bed cover that is compatible with the sport bar, bu nobody had an answer - anyone know any different? It will help me decide whether or not to get the dealer-installed sport bar or not, since the bed cover is more important for me than the sport bar and associated lights.

Thanks.

Since the new 2016 Sivlerado and 2014 models are identical except for the front grille and hood, do you think the sports bar will fit a 2014 silverados bed?

wow how about that! Good stuff, thanks!

Steve - let me know if you have any luck with purchasing this cover. Called my local dealer and they said the cover is not a good GM part number and can't get it for me.

I just called my dealer and he didnt even know existed. I showed him the website and he is going to talk to his GM rep. He thinks it is not available to the public yet. I will keep you posted.

Hi Everyone, I hope this clears everything up. I took delivery of an All Terrain X a few months ago and have been calling every tonneau cover company since then. Based on my research, Truxedo is the only company working on making a compatible cover. The cover will be the Truxedo Lo Pro. I followed this Chevy CA link and called the company listed. It is in fact referring to the Truxedo Lo Pro that is being developed and tested. It was simply listed under a parent company name. After talking to Truxedo several times in the last few months and after my call today, they confirmed that testing is going well and it is expected to launch early 2017. I hope this helps anyone looking to buy a truck with the sport bar or anyone contemplating whether to modify a new cover.

Perfect. I guess I will sit and wait then.

I ordered the 2016 Sports Bar Package but it didn't have instructions. I'm not getting any leads from local Chevy dealers telling me its against policy to disclose installation instructions to customers. Im at a loss of words and need help installing this awesome sports bar package...any suggestions. Thanks,

Just installed a Lund Genesis rollup cover.....the sports bar does not interfere with the mount........only change wasa installation of and extra 3/8" foam insulation to take up the difference where the bracket overlaps the side rail cap.

if you dont mind can you post a picture of how does the foam goes in the track

thank you

We can probably help but it would be beneficial if you took a few pictures of the bar at different angles and with all the hardware you got with it. I assume the bar mounts in your front two stake pockets with expansion fittings or they drop in and it drops into the stack pocket and a bolt holds the bar via an existing hold near in the pocket, then a clamp style plate appears to connect the rear of the bar with the side of the bed.

We have 6 of those bars in the back of our parts room at my dealership because anyone that buys those trucks doesn't want them and we take them off lol. We can't even give them away.

Any updates on the tonneau cover in testing?

I didnt get a chance to install my BAK Revovler X2 on my truck with the sports bar. I did get one rail notched out for one section. I probably wont get it install until spring. Truck is in storage.

Why would anyone buy a truck with these accessories and then request to take them off? If true, those buyers are as re%^#*^%# as your comment.

It's happens all the time. It's a matter of taste. I think they are about the ugliest thing you can put on a truck other than a cap but the next person might love them.

We take off chrome everything, step bars etc. The customer gets a discount for the stuff that gets taken off unless they just don't care, which also happens a lot.

    • I agree, simplicity and reliability matter more as vehicles get more complicated. A V8 work truck option with fewer electronic features and a stronger warranty would definitely appeal to a lot of buyers who use their trucks for real work. Customizing it with trusted outfitters is often the best way to get exactly what you need.webcrimsNY
    • I’ve heard similar complaints from newer vehicles where the factory “premium” systems don’t always live up to expectations. A good installer should be able to improve the sound without turning it into a bass-heavy setup. I’d look into upgrading the front speakers, adding a quality DSP amplifier, and possibly improving sound deadening first—those changes usually make a much bigger difference than just adding a subwoofer. Hopefully someone local can recommend a reputable installer in the Las Vegas/St. George area.
    • Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.
    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
