GM Borla vs Muffler Delete

I took some videos of me driving this morning but the sound is really off from using my iPhone. Sounds like there is humming in the cab but there is zero. I will try and take a better video with a different device later.

Thank you. I think this will help a lot of people who are wondering what the interior sounds like after the delete.

In houston TX, my local shop charged me 60 to replace my factory muffler with a straight pipe and install my gibson square tips side by side straight out the pass side...meaning a new piece of pipe to go straight back and "Y" to my dual tips. I thought it was a bargain !!

My exhaust guy wants $30 to do the muffler delete with aluminized steel exhaust pipe welded in. Since it's so affordable I think I'll have him use 409 stainless steel instead. Now I just got to wait until the new truck comes in.

Okay, had some more work done on the exhaust. I moved the resonator back, deleted the flapper valve, added a Y splitter, and duel black exhaust tips. Here is cold start. I will try and do an in cab video later but the iPhone really sucks because it picks up a lot of humming noise that you don't hear in person.

That's pretty cool how you did that with the resonator. How's the drone in the cab with the flapper valve gone?

Now that sounds good. So it is basically a muffler delete and valve delete? All cats and resonator left. Any rev or driving vids. Now that is a cheap easy way to a nice sound

Thanks! You can tell it's there. It wasn't super annoying but might be after a while. I disabled the V4 mode with my Diablo i2.

You can hear the hum in the video but it's not there in person. Not sure why the iPhone picks it up so strongly. It's how all my in cab videos sound but the hum is honestly not there.

Yes, just a muffler and valve delete. I wanted duels but with the resonator so close to the back, it made it difficult. So we just moved it back and added the Y splitter. I spent $300 total :)

Thanks. I have tried at least 5 times to shot a video in the cab but the iPhone picks up a ton of hum that is just not there. My son has a GoPro and will try and use that. Should be able to do some videos durning lunch tomorrow.

Thank you! Seriously you're videos are really useful. They sealed the deal for me. Now I got to wait for the truck to come in.

Wow that sounds real good. It seems like when cruising its fairly quite. Once you hit it is pretty loud. That's nice , cheaper than all the borlas , corsas and stuff and from the bids looks good and sound real nice. Your not planning an exhaust upgrade are you ? Are you happy with it?

Yes, I like it a lot, I don't plan on doing anything else but we all know how that goes.

So with or without the flapper ? Wonder what it would sound like without the flapper on stock tune trucks like mine. I don't mind taking off the flapper as well as the muffler but just wonder if there is any noise difference with or without it.
