Wheel locks maybe..... Yall think its bad in Houston...... And in the valley..

My friend had his 24x10 front and 24x15 rear Intros off his slammed/tubbed silverado stolen and truck on blocks

We are talking like a good 5 grand in wheels alone..... Not counting the 405 section rear tires lol

Sounds like they did him a favor on that monstrosity.

...I kid, I kid... sort of. Nobody deserves to have anything stolen. Thieves are despicable. But I do hate rubberband tires and lowered trucks, it makes them not trucks anymore imo.

This happened to me here in Humble back in July 2015. Same exact way from,my drive way. My neighbors camera caught them. It took them a whole 4 minutes to take all 4 wheels and tires. That's cause they were 33s.

were you able to id them off the camera or at least get a license plate? I see people advocating getting cameras but what good are they doing besides being able to watch them steal your stuff?

The words that i want to use right now would result in a permanent ban...

Those A holes need to rot in hell!!!! I hate to see such a beautiful truck on blocks... One works so dam hard to have nice things and what do these jerks do?? Ohh look lets take those wheels and sell them for $1000 for some drugs.

Friend had his 2005 silverado stolen from Walmart in Houston. He was walking back to his truck and he hears it start (cam, 3" exhaust, LT headers) and pull out.... He runs after it but its no use.... Some guy chased it for him out of the parking lot but lost it on the hwy.

2 days later he finds it behind a shop with his 22" texas ed replicas missing. Was able to recover the truck and there was damage but his insurance covered most of the damages except for the missing wheels.

About a week or so later he sees an ad for the same wheels for sale on Facebook. He knows they were his. Idk how but you just know when something is yours. He called the police and had an undercover go with him. They were about to purchase the wheels when he made an excuse to un inflate the tires and pull them off the wheels.....

BOOMMMM MUTHERFERSSS

He had engraved his name, and drivers license number on the inside of each wheel!!!

It ended with justice.

Thought i would share his story.... This was about 2yrs ago.

No we weren't able to get anything of the camera but keep in mind the house is 75 yards away. If I would have a motion and lights I'm sure I would have gotten at least a good face shit of the guys on camera. I think it would have never happened if I had those things. They would have seen that and moved to the next one. I recently obtained a camera system program that alerts me when camera sense motion and turn on. I won't hesitate to shoot someone on my property stealing [emoji379]

cameras still need improving in the nighttime detail department. thats not to say that they aren't useful. you really need to use every deterrent you can to keep the wheels on these trucks. off-street, behind a gate, in the garage, motion light, night-vision camera, alarm sensor, wheel locks. if they still want them after dealing with all that, then you need to sleep in your truck with a shotgun.

:idiot: You have to catch them in the act first...

Everyone always says I would use my gun, but many times the situation doesn't allow it. They stole your car, "I would have shot them" but they didn't steal it in front of you. Ditto when someone mentioned in another thread they would have shot the people stealing gas at 4 am while everyone was sleeping. People can go ahead and keep thinking a gun would solve all the worlds problems for criminal activity and be hardasses behind a computer, but it really would only solve a very small portion of them...

The wheels and tires arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, they sent Chevy wheel centers. The truck was towed to the dealer to have the rear brake backing plates replaced along with the front ball joints and an alignment. That is what the adjuster spec'd out in his estimate. The correct GMC wheel centers will be installed there as well. The new Hankook tires look much better than the SRAs.

I'm having the oil changed, front rocking seat fixed and headlights addressed while the truck is there as well. I'm hoping that I get my truck back on Friday. This Altima I have fora rental is a total POS and really should be retired from the Hertz fleet.

Current update:

Adjuster came out Wednesday morning and went over the truck and wrote up his estimate for backing plates, ball joints, etc. New wheels and tires arrived on Wednesday afternoon and were installed. Of course, they installed Chevy wheel centers. So,the guy had to take the wheels off again, just to pop them out. Insurance towed the truck to the local GMC dealer to replace the rear backing plates, front ball joints and do an alignment.

On Thursday, another estimator from insurance checked out the truck at the dealer and left his paperwork with them. Dealer and insurance had a debate on hourly rate and labor hours needed to complete repairs.

On Friday during lunch, dealer service adviser calls to tell me that they were waiting on the insurance company to authorize their labor rate and hours. I called insurance and after a conference call, they finally settled on a number to fix the truck. Still, it was a Friday afternoon, so I knew damn well I wasn't going to see my truck until Monday.

It's just been a long, crappy week.

Sorry to hear that your stuck in the Altima for the weekend. Hopefully once Monday comes your truck is back to normal.
